Plan on putting a good few miles on my bike this summer, the original seat is ok but gets a bit uncomfortable on long runs.

I was looking at a comfort seat (the single quilted one, not the dual seat)

Does anyone have any experience of them? Are they much better than the original?
£260 is a fair outlay so I would hope its a lot comfier.

    Cheers

I had one, it was a bit better than the standard seat but not massively better.

    Hi there,
I have the lowered comfort seat and have used it on both of my Thruxtons for over 30K miles. I agree with TonyG it is a bit more comfortable over longer rides. It also seems to last well after 8 years steady use it has not gone saggy and feels pretty much like new. I found that the original seat edges dug into my thighs after about 2hrs riding the comfort seat does not do that. Whether the standard height comfort seat is any better I don't know.
    Hope that helps?

Thanks for the replies, pretty much as I expected. The comfort seat is a lot of money for not too much improvement.

Think a decent pair of padded shorts is the way to go with the added bonus they can be used on my other bike.

The ones mentioned above are specifically for cycling and from the brief research I have done it appears the padding isn’t in the same area that would be needed for a motorbike seat.

Ive found these ones which aren’t exactly cheap but are designed specifically for motorbikes and even different types of bike.
Think I’ll take a punt on them.

    cheers for the replies.
