Just thought. Here I am bragging on about my new bike and not a mention for Jason @ Bulldog Triumph. Yes I know I was spending money. But I walked in to a show room Triumph had inundated with new machines of all models there was little room anywhere and even the new machines were still in their wrapping. Jason fetched me a cuppa and informed me my bike was in the show room getting prepared and he would fetch me as soon as it was ready for the road which did not take to long at all. All the staff treated me like royalty and could not help enough. I think it was Adam took my jacket helmet and bits and said don't worry Joe I will look after those for you. Don't think you can read the little note on the bike that read something. Welcome Joe enjoy your new bike and thanks. Really personalised the whole transaction. So thankyou Jason and Bulldog you made it a fab day. Joe

Yes what a lovely bike. I would have loved that colour but settled for the first one Bulldog could get in for me. Joe

Hi Guys, new to the Forum today ...
At 82yrs it was time for me to move on from my SprintST and Tiger800 as manoeuvrability was becoming an issue. Been riding since 1959, so now the Speed400 matches my needs perfectly, light, nimble, responsive. Took delivery 4 weeks ago. Only downside is waiting for accessories which Triumph seemed to have underestimated demand for and why does 1st gear have to be so low ?
    Ride safe.

It’s a relief to see that I’m not alone with this issue. Collected my red speed 400 last Tuesday. Clocked up 300 miles since. Now getting the same warning light randomly.

Also ABS & traction control warning lights, though they go out as soon as I ride away. I’ll contact the dealership about this software update.

ABS/TC usually stay lit until the bike exceeds about 5 mph.

Lovely, Joe, and I hear you regarding the weight (my T120 feels very heavy at times). Wishing you many safe and happy miles on the 400.

Got my Speed 400 (The pretty blue one) back on Thursday. No EML but the Immobilizer light stays on randomly. I'm assured that there is not a problem and that the software will get modified at some point.
I agree with OldBoy82 regarding the accessories situation. I'm waiting for fly screen and heated grips. I have fitted an aftermarket radiator grill ( I feel this should be fitted as a standard piece of equipment. But hey ho.
I have dumped the "bar end" mirrors. For me they are neither one thing or the other. I am in process of making my own mirror arms custom to my requirements as I can't seem to buy the required length. I know there are lots who love the originals. Good job we don't all like the same stuff. I have fitted a Cobra style of chain oiler, that's working lovely but I need to slightly modify the end of the oil tube. All in all is a fabulous bike for the money. The engine is a peach! Looking forward to getting it run in (done around 300 miles so far).

Hi, Joe! I’m late to this thread, but super excited to see that you have a new bike! Congratulations, it’s a beauty. Looking good! And by that I mean both the bike AND you. I hope that you really enjoy your new steed. What a lovely gift from your lovely wife. :)

Yes sad isn't it getting to an age where even my 865 Bonnie was feeling heavy fine for riding but pushing around and taking in and out of my garage was starting to tell. Didn't help as the drive outside the garage is riddles with potholes and the surface is all broke up. The highways and local authority don't care even though every resident here has complained about it. Joe

    @Sandi T / Steve / Ellie.
Thanks yes she spoils me to much. I find the 400 suits me better for mooching around the lanes and minor roads. But as said to @learning to fly it is a kind of sad that I find the other bikes heavy to push around these day. Still fine with the 660 and now the 400. But the 660 is feeling left out as I am running the 400 in. Always nice to hear from you. Joe

Hi Joe, I recently bought a Speed 400 and I'm really liking it so far - like you, I am working through those first 600miles for a service later this month.

Been riding my 400x now for nearly 400 miles. And love it to bits. So much I have decided to get rid of my 660 by selling or trading for a speed 400. They really suit me and my style of riding these days. @joe mc donald

So when you're old and knackered like me, and you think you have to give up riding, get a trike the thrills are just as good.

Just a little warning if anyone is thinking of fitting a fly screen from Royalendfieldking on eBay. They are an Indian company. The advise the screen as fitting the 400x then they send parts unfit for purpose. Not only did it cost me £17 pounds to return US parts. They don't make any effort to put their wrongs right and will only blag their way out of it when you get eBay to contact them

Well peeps had my 600 service today. Now ready to put some more miles on the bike. Bit disappointed Triumph are lagging behind with supplying the accessories I ordered. You would think they could put some time into getting things like that sorted. But don't tell My Tracy I looked at the blue 400 speed while there and have asked what sort deal they would do against my 660. I have sent them some pictures and waiting for them to get back to me with a rough estimate. So maybe just maybe.
