Hey everyone, I know this has been covered countless times but I am really struggling between what I read on forums and what I have read about general jetting and online calculators for high altitude.
I was just given a 2006 Triumph America that has had the airbox removed (k&n pods) and some kind of Harley branded exhaust put on, besides that I’ve been led to believe the engine and carbs have not been touched and still sit at 110 main jets and a 42 pilot (but will confirm that 100% tomorrow when I take them out for a more thorough cleaning). The kicker is the bike came from absolute sea level and my house is at 8500’ in the Rocky Mountains, I will regularly ride to 12,000+ and occasionally down to Denver but mostly be high. ;)
I’ve been led to believe that maybe the 110’s would be good and only switch the pilot because a calculator says to run around a 99-106 but a lot of people at high altitude on the forums are still upsizing to around 130 and running the stock 42’s. This is past any work I’ve done on my previous bikes and I really don’t want to rent another trailer to try and bring it somewhere.
Any help at all is greatly appreciated, first time I’m having to do my own tuning!

If you keep in mind standard jetting is sufficient to take on high alpine passes with no effect on running, take the REs for example they run standard jetting on high altitude Himalayan roads by companies who run tours, although roads is a bit of an eye opener. I would run it and see how it goes, a quick look at the plugs colour will give you a good indication before you go altering the jetting.

Thanks for the reply! I finally got it apart a few minutes ago after being sick for a week and realized it was switched to 130, 45 jets so I’m gonna order some stock ones and hopefully that’ll help.
