    Stefan,

I changed my stock seat, which I thought was too soft, for a pair of leather quilted seats. Didn't make much difference to the "bum" ache time for me. Which reminds me, I must get round to selling them.

I bought mine two years ago with the express reason being touring. I have toured Adventure (GS) Cruiser (RK) and Sports, (the last was a XJR). I definitely wanted a triumph but the tiger wasn't a good fit for me. When i saw the Speedmater, I said "that's the one!". they tried to sell me the Rocket but I held firm. From the thousands of miles I have ridden my old Road King I knew I wanted the footboards, apart from that I added some Soft tail Hardbags, as in my experience any softbag is a security liability and a dart screen.
On my HDs I would always replace the seat with a Mustang, and that would keep me going for days. The previous bike I did distance on (London to the Highlands and back) was the old XJR1300. That was bl@@dy painful. But with the Triumph seat I'm good until Carlisle. I tend to break 600 mile journeys in two if i can, but that's as much to do with conditions specific to the UK. Continental riding can be much more forgiving. But saying that, for some reason there's always some reason why I have to ride the full 700 home in one sitting and in a downpour.

The one thing i would like is a rider's backrest but not seen any yet. may have to go about modifying another one like I did with the bags.
