Just bought my first Triumph, a Street Triple R. It should look lovely in the stable, even better on the road. Have no experience with this bike, but was looking for something in between my Harley Road King and Honda VFR1200F. This is about right. As always, already thinking about mods. What are the most common first mods riders are doing?

Thanks. First order of business are Mods. What everyone’s must do, nice to and don’t ever. I’m leaning toward Tail Tidy, heated grips and fly screen with Powerbronze extension. It’s winter here in NY :)

I guess the mods hierarchy will be determined by a combination of aesthetics and effectiveness.

The first has got to be a decent tail tidy such as Evotech.
    Track stand bobbins.
Phone mount such as Quadlock. You can run a USB cable to it from the outlet under the seat.
If you have no intention of carrying pillion passengers remove the rear footrests and their hangers. Note to those in the UK, if you do this you will need to get a rear seat cowl otherwise it will not pass the MoT (annual statutory vehicle fitness test from year three)
Armour for the bike such as axle bobbins, engine guards and bar ends
Purely aesthetics would include a fly screen to complete the look of the nacelle area and maybe a belly pan. I would include a rad guard in this category as well.
Bar end mirrors for looks and to eliminate mirror shake.
    TPMS for peace of mind.
If your riding takes you to those roads that are arrow straight and disappear over the horizon then cruise control?
Maybe heated grips if you intend riding in single figure temperatures °C but maybe heated gloves if you have more than one machine (they also heat the knuckles not the palms).
? A pair of DRLs on the fork legs.
Luggage for long trips? An extendable tank pack or even go the full panniers and top box if you’re into camping.
I guess you will ride with mates rather than solo. If so some decent comms such as Cardo will add so much to your group rides and allow you to listen to the satnav instructions from your phone.

That’s all that immediately come to mind. How full is your piggy bank? :joy:

Finally, Stella is home! Rode my 2024 Street Triple R home on Saturday. What a fiasco. Got home from the 30-mile journey only to get a call from the dealer. I forgot my paperwork and they forgot to apply the inspection sticker. I had to ride all the way back and home again... . 120 plus miles on a warm winter day - Fiasco? NOT!

Of course, I came down with a flu and we had 8 inches of snow, so my first project is sadly a battery tender.

She's a tease for the first 600-miles, but I expect our relationship to change. Oh baby!
