I've recently replaced the TEC shocks on my Street Twin with a set of Hagon Nitros, which means the TEC shocks are up for sale if anyone is interested.
I fitted the TEC shocks because the original Triumph rear suspension is bollox. Far too bouncy (underdamped), especially on our wrecked roads. I seemed to be spending almost as much time off the seat as on it (ok maybe a slight exaggeration). Anyway the TEC shocks were a definite improvement and they've served me well for a few thousand miles. Now I've upgraded again.
The TEC shocks look pretty much as good as new, with no marks or scratches, which must say something about the build quality. I'm asking £75 + postage, which is about half their original price or I'm near Wilmslow in Cheshire if anyone wants to pick them up.

Sounds a fair price and GLWS.

I too had TEC rear shocks on my 900 and would suggest they are good for solo use (with occasional pillion). I only upgraded as I felt they could be improved upon damping wise for regular two up use but that comes at a significant cost to the price here.

Well worth this price especially in such fine condition.

Hmmmm very tempted as I’ve got TEC shocks in black with chrome springs but I’d quite like black springs. Maybe a bit much just to get springs but will give it some thought!

Anyone have any ideas how easy/hard it would be to swap the springs over?

Black springs are definitely in fashion this year. Do you really want to risk your street cred for the sake of a few quid?

@MattGaydon what you need is a fatty tattie mate to sit on the bike to compress the springs. Put a couple of ratchet straps to hold the coils in a compressed state then release the load to slip out the lower split collar.
Unbolt from the bike and slide the spring off.

Repeat with the other set and abracadabra you now have x2 sets of springs to play with.

I used to have a proper shock compression jig for the exchanging of springs on such shocks, but that's a long time ago.
Careful and sensible use of x2 ratchet straps should suffice.

Last chance for someone on this forum to grab this wonderful pair of TEC shocks at a very reasonable price. They measure 34cm eye to eye and will fit the Street Twin, T100, T120 and possibly others. There is also the facility to extend the length to 36cm (if I can find the parts!).
They're going on ebay next week.

Hi, I'd be interested in these if they are still available, though I'd need them with the extension pieces.

Yes Flay they are still available, although they're due to go on ebay at 6pm this evening. I'll have a rummage for the extension pieces this morning. I rarely throw anything out so if I've got them (and I think I have) then I'll find them. I'll let you know how I get on a bit later today.

I love spending time shifting boxes at this time of year in my very nippy garage but it proved worthwhile!

There they are. Never been used and simple to fit.

They're now on ebay. If any Forum members are interested I'll include the postage in the £75.

That's a nice offer. Problem is that ebay will take the full amount I think.
