Birthday pressie -thought you might like to see

It's me birthday today and Wend got me loads of stuff but thought you guys might like to see this :

 

Just finished a very nice lunch with friends - there appear to be lots of empty bottles on the window sill.

Beautiful meal made by Wendy, gorgeous selection of wines to suit the different courses, great company - feeling a little bit tired now .

 

Surely feel would be more accurate ?

Hi mate, just to paint you a few pics :

Been in France since 2002, for the first 2 years I studied every day for one to one and a half hours each day without fail, between 8:30 and 10am. If you want to build yourself a life (rather than an extended holiday) in a foreign country IT IS ESSENTIAL to be competent with that language imo.

Of course you start off slowly and build up, but the desire to be good at it, is essential.

If you don't make a positive effort to learn the language you will get pissed about and ripped off!

Working in France can be more complicated because everything is much more structured than UK and you need to accept that there will be a lot more paperwork. And never ever ask why someone wants a particular document - they just do. It's part of their system and culture to have everyone identified.

It's a great place to live and work, but it is a different country - not the same country but with cheap property and a funny accent !
