Scrambler Fuel Gauge On 2019 Scrambler 1200 Shows Empty With 6 Litres Left

I've recently bought that great bike but the fuel gauge and range estimates seem way off : it show 1 bar left and 10 miles range but will only take 11 litres at the pump so looks like there's still 5 litres in it (the handbook says the tank is 16 litres). Is that typical of the gauge on the 1200 scrambler ?

On the last 2 refuels, the bike used a bit over 5 litres per 100km so it looks like I can add nearly 100 km/60 miles to the range estimate.
