I live in the deep south of New Zealand and took up motorcycling when I retired. I used to ride on the Leeds Liverpool canal Bank and over the fields as a kid and wanted to take it up again so went through the process of getting a full license. I recently bought a tiger 900 rally pro. Much as I enjoy road riding on my old Suzuki Bandit with only 3 roads out of the town where I live unless you go for an all day or more ride the options are a bit limited. However we have many miles of gravel roads, dirt tracks etc and this is the reason for the Tiger. The mountain at the back of our house is higher than the highest peak in England and there is a road all the way to the top and beyond! An adventure bike is a no Brainer.
Brilliant - and welcome to the forum. I love South Island NZ. Whilst I'm in the UK, my Dad used to live in Rangiora and one of my most memorable rides is taking a couple of mid 1920s Triumphs into the mountains.
