After a long hiatus I am buying a new Triumph DT120 next month. I have a lot of reading on mods and accessories to catch up on. Thank you adding me to this forum.

Welcome, don't rush into spluging money on stuff until you have had the bike for some time, in general most of the after market stuff is inferior to the Triumph oem parts and Triumphs build and design quality are very good, enjoy your DT120 as Triumph built it and see how you go.

Good advice, there are a couple of things I want to do right way, Crash bars, engine protection and rear rack. We will sort out the rest later. Windscreen is high on the list.

Hi and a warm welcome to the forum, put whatever accessories you like on your machine, regarding parts and accessories, Triumph don't manufacture their own parts as such, most are made by outside contractors, that's why parts are often discontinued and re introduced due to supply issues, there are very few machines now produced by the Hinckley plant, most are assembled and many components made in Asia etc, the reasons behind why Triumph have done this are complex, some countries place huge import duties on new machines that are imported. Triumph can set up a factory that can assemble complete machines whilst importing the major components, that way the heavy import duties are avoided. The build quality of the latest generation Triumph motorcycles are excellent quality, that said they are nowhere near the quality of the early Hinckley machines, this however is not as much an issue for our friends that live in warmer climes, unlike here in the UK where a rider can go from sunshine to torrential rain all in the space of 20 miles, even in our so called summers. Hope you really enjoy riding your machine and keep the forum posted on how you get on. Ride safe all from an ageing Rocker.

I live close enough to the Gulf Coast here that we have similar conditions in the summer...
