6 days 1800 kms 3 sierras 8 motorcycles day 1 "mil cumbres" Michoacan state, amazing twisty road between Morelia and Cd. Valles
Day 2 Sierra Gorda Queretaro state goes between the towns of Bernal and Xilitla Natural reserve Great views distract from the twisties Stopped for this photo
Day 3 Spent the day at Xilitla The town is getting ready for day of the death celebrations And some images of the group at a geothermal power station
Even with GPS, mobiles and following our guide, we got lost and added about 2 hrs on our way to Bernal The town is famous for having a large monolith rock A cold front has lowered the temperature and high up in the Sierra brought light rain and FOG Riding 150 kms at night in those conditions took about 5 hrs instead of 2, thankfully everyone arrived fine, just tired
still day 2 stop to suitup for the wet conditions and stop to stretch after riding along time in foggy twisty road at night I'm the bright yellow michelin man, wearing multiple layers that make me fat, but I was dry and warm
Arrived at San Luis Potosi last 50k with fog , rain , and heavy trucks ... but wider and better road than Monday Stopped at a natural park "Tamasopo" lots of water falls, even here there is decoration for the day of the death With warm weather this place will be very busy, with temps around 10°c it was not. Tonight we had 6°c while riding, certainly not what I'm used to, near my home if sunny temps will be above 20°c , so again today I looked like the michelin man
In San Luis Potosi early walk in downtown more decoration for the season some service was goin gon inside the cathedral A view from the main plaza
at the last town - San Miguel de Allende also decorated for the season and a lot of people dressed up makeup stands in the middle of the street at a restaurant entrance waiting for a table a nice porter while waiting for the food to arrive girl on a harley the main plaza
at the end the maps Day 1 , Guadalajara to Los Azufres Day 2: Los Azufres to Xilitla Day 3 : relax Day 4: Xilitla to SLP, again we got caught by some light rain and fog on top of the sierra a few kms before SLP, but this was a much better road Day 5: SLP to SMA 188KMs Day 6 SMA to Gdl
Leaving Xilitla 0.25 liter, too bad it was closed apothecary ---------------------- THE END -----------------
Hi Armando! Thanks for the great pictures and interesting stories of your tour. I really enjoyed it!!!! I hope you could end up with your "Michelin-Mode" due to better weather?!
@Armando Morales Armando, thank you so much for sharing your trip adventures and many amazing photos! I thoroughly enjoyed your thread. I particularly liked all of the Dia de las Muertos photos, especially (as you might imagine) the one of the woman on the Harley. And your photos made me want to explore many more places in Mexico. One photo that really caught my eye is the black & white photo of the Pemex station. It looks like you and your group had a terrific trip! Thanks for taking the time to snap and share images with us and to write about your adventures.
Thank you @Sandi T If you ever plan a trip south of the border I'll be happy to give recomendations and/or meet you somewhere along the route
