Surprised and disappointed seeing the quality of the wiring that runs out from the left hand switchgear on my 19 plate speed. On plugging in the battery tender I noticed that the covering for the wire loop, from the flasher was splitting and crumbling.
I had a 50 year old moto morini that had better quality wiring, honestly.
I'm frightened to think about the rest of the wiring now. Bike is immaculate, 3000mile fair weather toy. Interested to see if any other bikes are suffering similar. It's a bugger trying to get some electrical tape around it.

Unfortunately it is a common issue with a lot of Triumphs, the wiring will eventually fail unless you rectify it as soon as possible, the easiest way is to peel back the damaged outer cover and then replace with a heat shrink, you can get a rubberised silicon based adhesive and when that is applied neatly you can't tell and it is 100% waterproof.

Thank you, that's exactly the route I'm going down, I ordered the heat shrink last week and have my heat gun at the ready :)

Can you post a picture(s) please? I've not had any issues, at least yet, but maybe I'm looking in the wrong places.

Well that was a wasted effort. Ordered the heatshrink without adhesive, tried every size, but after cutting lengthwise the heatshrink just opened up and fell off before shrinking. Gave up and taped it as best I could. One slightly used 150 piece heatshrink heading to the bin.......

Would a small square of Sellotape help?

edit: I meant to hold the heat shrink together whilst heating it :)
