Hi all. I’ve recently bought a 2018 street triple 765 R/S. Took it out in the dark and I could see nothing. it he DRL which was switched off. All that comes on is the 2 small led lights at the front. High beam works fine. Is this right?
I think you have answered your question yourself, and you are correct it is not right. Taking it back to the dealer is absolutely the correct action. I hope they fix the problem so you can fully enjoy your bike
I guess what I was after is what the correct state should be on the street triple with DRL,s. Should blow beam be the drummer led’s at the front with the left or right light and full beam both? As it’s a Kawasaki dealer I doubt they’ll know what the correct state should be. I want to be armed with a response in case they say ‘it looks on to us’. I suspect the relay is shut.
Not sure I quite understand your question here. I have a Tiger 900GT. The DRL is not good at night, nor is it meant to be. The Tiger has a switch on the left-hand switchgear to change from DRL to dipped beam. The dipped beam, while not perfect (especially round corners) is fine for night riding and, of course, I can switch on the full beam too. Hope that helps.
Thanks for your reply. No I don’t have DRL’s on. The issue is when I switch drl’s off to low beam all I have is the 2 small led lights at the front (the ones that shine the drl’s) but slot dimmer - nothing else. No light projected onto the road and I can see nothing. My question is should one of the lights that are in for high beam be in for low beam too. I suspect I have a relay out as both lights work on high beam.
In which case it sounds like you have a legitimate problem which Triumph should be able to fix for you. If you bought the bike from them (or an independent dealer) they should fix this for nothing.
So the resolution was quiet embracing on my part… so the bulbs are h4, twin element. Both the low beam bulbs had gone on the 2nd element….
Meanwhile, I notice that the lights on my Tiger 900GT are fine at night until I turn into a corner. The spread is all sideways which is fine when travelling upright but in a turn the light on the side I'm turning into disappears, if that makes sense, as it is pointing at the road beneath me rather than out to the side. Not sure what the solution is apart from buying fog lights (HOW much...?).
Hey guys I have a 2003 Speed Four and I don't really like the style of the standard headlights. I was trying to upgrade to some smaller, sleeker, led headlights like in this picture below. Does it matter which headlights I get? Just not sure how compatible the headlights are when looking at other aftermarket options. Any help would be greatly appreciated here as it has been difficult to find out by searching the web.
