    Good day
    Everybody

Hi I'm William Smit from South Africa and my girl is a 2016 Tiger XCX.

I have a problem with her, when she is hot and I stop at a shop to get a drink or something then she does not want to start again, she is acting like the battery is flat. Give her enough time to cool she will start no problem.

Does anyone else experience the same type of problem before.

    Regards
    William

Hi William, sounds like a hot start problem, had the same problem on my daytona, I took off the starter motor and striped and cleaned out, put on thick 4G starter cables, battery to solenoid, solenoid to starter motor and it fixed the problem hope this helps. M

Its a known problem, my Speed Triple sometimes does this when very hot, symptoms like a flat battery but ok after a cooldown time . Apparently it's the battery cables are too small and unable to pass sufficient current when hot.
As someone has already said heavier gauge cables are the solution.
I believe a guy called Geoff "pudding" Halford sells excellent replacements.

    Hello everybody.

Thanks to all the info, I found the problem as it was permanent now.

I stripped my starter and found that all four brushes were completely finished the commutator was touching the cables of the brushes, took it in for repairs as a replacement from Triumph is way too expensive and I'm picking it up today. Thanks again all.

    Regards
    William

Good news @William Smit and nice for you to come back with the answer for others future reference ;)
Sometimes people come on, get ideas and info, then disappear with no final outcome announced so everyone else is left wondering, especially if they have a similar issue.
    Glad you've sorted it.

Hi William, thanks for letting everyone know that you found the problem, this will definitely help others to fault find a problem. Fit those heavyweight cables while you're in there. Stay safe. M
