Hi I have a 2018 Speed Triple RS and I am about to mount to the engine/frame bolt a crash bobbin. Does anyone know the torque setting for this bolt? See the pic for where it goes. Hi Jon, Maybe EP are finding it legally challenging to state torque settings now. They certainly used to in the installation pdf which was a great help. You could subscribe to Triumph Technical Information to look it up and if you are doing more to your bike, it would be worth it. Or you could do a rough check with the torque needed to undo it, which might be waste of time, but FT is risky on cylinder heads. I believe it's 80Nm but you should get a 2nd opinion, there's bound to be one along soon who's fitted the same.
You're right MoreT, it does. I've recently bolted the same frame bobbins onto a Street 765 and the bolts are engine mounts. The EP pdf doesn't make that clear either.
If it's going into alloy then i'd treat it like a spark plug. Hand tight then quarter turn with a spanner. Use common sense. Don't exert your muscle power.
Phone your triumph dealer for a definitive answer, they can look it up in a matter of seconds. Thats what I've done in the past.

It’s a bolt with a nut that holds the engine in place on the frame. Just got the bike delivered yesterday and won’t be able to ride until tomorrow but it’s love at 1st sight. I had a new Speed Triple back in 2012 which was my favourite of the naked I’ve had, stupidly I replaced it after a year with a MV Augusta Brutale 990 as I was a looking for something lower to the ground for my short legs, which it wasn’t then I got the Brutale 800 when it came out as it was lower. Happily I’m I’m back where I belong with my Speed.
Have a look at the Triumph frame protection fitting instructions attached which quotes 48 Nm. These are what I have fitted to my Striple.
I agree 80Nm is the torque stated in the Service Manual. Be careful not to disturb the adjustable shim between the frame and cylinder head on the right hand side.
