New user! Although I signed on several years ago, this is my first posting. I’m an expat Brit living in Ohio. I’ve had several Triumphs (starting with a Tiger Cub in 1967….!) and currently ride a Striple 765. Looking forward to participating a bit more frequently going forward!

Welcome back and what is that thing that looks like a 1990s label printer on your handlebars? :p

This may end up being a duplicate reply….apparently the moderator needs to approve the photos I loaded yesterday??.
Anyway, the “printer” is an Adaptiv Technolgies radar detector.

I’ll try a response without a photo to see if it will be accepted, but this may mean posting three nearly identical postings. Photos apparently need approval.

Thanks for all the welcoming words! To answer the initial question, the “printer” is a radar detector (Adaptiv Technologies).

Greetings @Kightley, and welcome to the forum. Glad you finally posted and hopefully you'll enjoy and participate in the forum. It's a great group. Whereabouts in Ohio do you live? My husband's family all live just north of Cincinnati.

So it basically detects police speed traps? I think they're illegal here (UK) and would get you your bike confiscated in France probably :joy:

Yep…I knew they were illegal in the UK, but they’re legal here in Ohio. I actually stick to the speed limits, but I got a ticket for breaking the limit for a few seconds to complete an overtake. The car coming in the opposite direction was a police car, and I accelerated to make sure I was clear. To avoid any future events like that, I bought the detector. The police here have car mounted radar that works even when they are moving.

It sure is, isn’t it?! W were just there about three weeks ago. My husband’s family lives in Hamilton and that’s where he grew up.
