Trying to decide which model of the 675 Street Triple I want to buy.

I want a Gen 3 (2013-2016) since those are the last years the Street Triple had the 675 engine and I am pretty sure I at least want the R since the suspension is better/adjustable as opposed to the Standard model but I am having difficulty deciding between the R and the Rx.

Can anybody offer any words of wisdom regarding the decision between the "R" and the "Rx"?

Just FYI, I am in the US and I plan to use the bike to ride locally as well as an occasional track day and I do not intend to ever carry a passenger.

    Thank You

Hi and welcome to the forum
I'm not sure what the difference is between the R and RX. I assume that it's the predecessor to what is now the RS version of the 765.

If so, it presumably has better quality and adjustable suspension compared to the R model.

The RX just had a Daytona tail bolted on so no difference other than looks. Personally I prefer the look of the R.

Thanks guys....I believe the only differences between the R and the Rx are the tail/seat like Andyc1 said and the Rx came with a quick shifter. I believe the suspension for the '13-'16 R and Rx are the same but both are better/more adjustable than the standard model.

So in reality, it comes down to looks and the quick shifter...I think I would like to have the quick shifter but it is by no means mandatory.

So I think I am answering my own question and either the R or the Rx would be a good choice :).

Bear in mind the RX will have less room under the seat. And you can fit a quick shifter to the R. Very minor points but just incase it might swing it for you.

Thanks Geoff...I saw the thread you posted the link for a while back and it is what led me to considering the 675 Street Triple as opposed to the newer 765. I did get to test ride a '23 Street Triple RS with the 765 engine and the bike is absolutely fantastic IMO but it also has a little more power than I need since my right wrist is not connected to my brain and all throttles must be turned as far as possible as often as possible. Sooo the '13-'16 675 Street Triple is a little bit wiser choice...at least for me :).
