    They've done it!
    400 triumph, looking good.
I think it will sell very well.
No price I can see at the moment.

I’ll take the Scrambler 400X please. That’ll fill the autumn winter hole in my garage very nicely:).

I wonder what the price will be and how it compares with Royal Enfield?

I agree, just go back to an old fashioned stock bike. I know they have to have ABS that's fine but traction control a waste of time

Agreed, bin the clutter and get back to a real world wet weight around 150 kgs.

This may just tempt my wife back to her own two wheels again. The RE Hunter 350 looks the part but is under powered at 20hp, whereas at 40hp this is spot on. Looks great too!

Yes, 20hp is not really enough but 40hp is fine - the Guzzi only has 48hp :D

So much will depend on price and RE have a 40 hp water cooled 450 about to be launched.

I believe that, according to Triumph, they will be priced "competitively against the European competition!"
Read from that what you will

Triumph rep interviewed in a Bike World youtube video said that that the price will be "competitive with" the BMW G310 (£5190 34bhp) and the KTM Duke 390 (£5499 44bhp).

Of course, Triumph's definition of competitive may be different from mine or yours. :)

Upside down 43mm forks ! what's that all about though? Dont get me wrong, I'm jealous my ST doesn't even have them.

I think there's such a huge market for both A2 riders and predominately women (often new / returning riders my age) in these bikes; when I talk to other women when they are on their own bikes the majority are on Honda Rebel 500s, RE Interceptor, RE Meteor, RE Himalayan etc - seems to be a sector of the market that is really taking off. These are both lovely looking bikes to me, especially the scrambler.

The bit I don't understand is, if the scrambler image gets you then why is there a weight and height penalty?

Did the marketing department get this wrong?

I absolutely agree, Mrs Visor! There aren't nearly enough reasonable options for new riders / women riders although there are more than there were a decade or two ago. I'm very happy to see Triumph entering that part of the market.

    UK prices announced:

    Speed 400 - £4,995 OTR
    Scrambler 400 X - £5,595 OTR

Not sure what makes the X worth 600 quid more. :)

Is it spoked wheels versus the cheaper mag wheels?
