Hi @timboo here is the web site for the vacsac that I have. IMO this is the best winter cover solution available.
    https://www.vac-bag.co.uk/test-category/motorcycle-vac-bag.html

I have also used a Carcoon Bikebubble in the past. It is good solution but is takes a bit more space in the garage and needs an electric supply. You can get these from:
    https://www.demon-tweeks.com/carcoo...h89Uh2WcbA2Gfj3ap4fVl1ZAsmxnHwzxoCSQoQAvD_BwE

I have a carcoon in the garage which I’m happy to sell if anybody is interested. Send me a pm if you want it.

    Hope this helps.

There were days when the bike was the only available form of transport, apart from the bus. That was 50 years ago, now they are treated, and used with more consideration. They still get wet and covered in road spray but not intentionally.

Cheers for the info I will have a gander. Are the bags large and strong enough to cover a bike on paddock stands?

I think sacs come in various sizes. Mine are 10’ x 8’ which my Thruxton fits in easily. I would check the website for sizing.

Added knee pads to my Thruxton 1200, for that classic look and also because the tank felt very narrow between the knees.

My Thruxton as it is now, 2 months since I got it.
When I bought it, it had the dual comfort seat and a luggage rack. Not too bad looking, but not really what I wanted, plus I only ride solo. I was lucky to find a used solo seat in mint condition, so I removed the duo seat as well as the rear footpegs and rack.
I did miss the rack when moving the bike around and pulling it on the paddock stand, so I added a slim grab bar. Works well and looks nice too, I think.

Hi all, picked up my Thruxton R late October last year and although I got out a few times over the winter, I've loved the few warmer days we've had here in the UK this summer.

I don't plan on doing too much to this - I've got a BMW K100 that's my 'build bike' - the only thing I have on the horizon for this coming winter is to commission a new seat cover. Keen to go for a quilted brown leather just to make it mine a little.

I put together my own pillion peg delete kit and fitted it last weekend, always nice to be able to do a quick and easy job! I have another 3 sets - if anyone wants to check them out, I've put them up on eBay here:

    https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/27593304...yXveHB3oJcC4qI1IlM7ky+ABg=|tkp:Bk9SR6if0oq6Yg

If you're looking for a solution to fit a quadlock into the centre stem and don't want to break the bank for a Thorton Hundreds quadlock stem nut (£90), the part number for an OEM Triumph one is T2041100 (£15.41). Only adding this info here because I couldn't find any pics online to confirm that it was hollow before I bought it!

    Cheers,
    Mark

Bought new in Jan 21 but have barely used it due to a house build. I'm still getting used to it, but it is at 600 miles now, and will do it's first service this week - it'll never see a dealer in my ownership. I'm looking forward to putting some decent miles on it and getting the suspension dialled in. So far I absolutely love it and enjoy it 10 times more than the Ducati it replaced.
