I've found a few brief references to the LedPERF LED kits on this forum but no definitive answer to the question 'is it any good?'.

As many owners of the water cooled Bonnies will know, the head light is bollox if you actually want to see where you're going at night on unlit roads. In fact it's downright dangerous if you choose to travel at more than walking pace and want to avoid badgers, hedges and other bits of nature. So I've been thinking of moving from halogen to LED.
The LedPERF bulb kit is around £45. The blurb with the all-in-one kit says it incorporates all necessary electronic components and is simply plug&play.

Has anyone fitted it and if so can it be recommended or condemned?

Ledperf Bulb Kit is designed to provide an efficient and brighter lighting system for your motorcycle. The kit includes two bulbs and a plug & play wiring system that makes installation easy and fast. The bulbs are waterproof, shockproof, and vibration resistant, so you can be sure of their durability. You can go for this and enjoy the improved visibility and lighting performance with this bulb kit!

Still not decided about the Ledperf kit because I can't get a straightforward answer.
Their website implies the LED headlight internals are simply swopped over (the whole unit, not just a bulb) and the stock headlight shell remains in place. It is NOT a complete headlight, just the insides.
The cost has jumped to around £100-ish, depending on which LED pattern you go for. Has anyone done this?

I’ve just bought and installed the slightly dearer of the two LED bulb replacements from them. So only needed to remove the halogen bulb and insert the LED bulb. The LED bulb comes with a small fan and it all takes up more space than the original but still fits in fine. I’ve not ridden in the dark with it yet, so can’t comment on that. It definitely appears brighter and whiter in my garage though.

I went with auxiliary lights. A bit more expensive, but they really light up the road ahead. There's the added benefit of being more visible during the day. Very bright. They have LED or halogen available. Easy install. The switch is wired directly to the battery and independent of the headlight electrics. They are mounted to the highway bars, so if your bike is not so equipped, you'd need to find an alternative location to mount them.

I've finally had a direct response from Ledperf (in France). Their headlight kit does NOT fit inside the original OEM shell, you have to buy your choice of LED pattern and their headlight shell to fit it. So that's that plan down the toilet.

The reason why they are instructing you to replace the reflector in the headlamp shell to take their “bulb” is because the OE reflector is designed to take the halogen bulb which has its light sources in a slightly different location to their “bulb”.

I have fitted an aftermarket LED “bulb” into the OE shell of my Ducati. Yes, it does produce a brilliant white light which looks great BUT the resultant beam is not good which is OK for daytime running but after dark you need to follow another rider who can see where he is going.
