Hi Sandi, the original image comes from church carvings of a face made from or wreathed in leaves and may suggest a celebration of Easter. That means it's probably a much older pagan image taken over by the church. In more recent times it sometimes refers to Robin Hood, who supposedly dressed in green
It's a popular name for a pub in England.

Never really liked spirits until Father’s day.
    Started on this one today…

Needed to quench my thirst after weeding in the sun, followed by some low carb lager. The market didn’t have my regular and the sales pitch was good, tasted like a summer ale.
“Summit Ultra is a refreshing golden lager with a crisp finish. Brewed for longer it has 75% less carbs than the average carb content of leading NZ beer brands. Making it the perfect way to wash down a hard workout with your mates”

Great marketing on the beer ("the perfect way to wash down a hard workout with your mates"), @Dartplayer! :joy: That all does look quite refreshing. I love a good G&T. Your post inspired me to do a little research........ :)

In the second link there's a gin listed that's a New Zealand gin. It's called Scapegrace Black. It sounds quite unique and interesting. Have you had it...or even heard of it?

Yes Sandy, I rate it as a summer ale as east to drink.
I had both lemon and lime and a might fine gin to start :p
I have not heard or seen scapegoat but a few friends are Hendricks tragics
    One of your favourites.

Yep, Dartplayer, I've liked Hendrick's from way back before it "hit the big time" and became one of the gins on nearly every bartenders shelf. ;):yum I'll have to look for that beer. It'll be interesting to see if I can get it here in Arizona.

It's a balmy 12 degrees here in Sunny South Jersey, USA. Five degrees when we woke up this morning. This is unusually cold for this time of year here. The Speedmaster, Miss Maggie, is tucked in the garage, sleeping soundly on her battery tender.
Christmas Eve is our big meal 'round these parts. My wife's lasagna is to die for! Tomorrow we just do an all-day buffet of hors d'oeuvres for whomever shows up. Our three girls, their significant others and two grandkids will all be over tonight. Everything's all set. We are ready for the onslaught!

Sitting back now and relaxing, sipping some Bailey's.

    Mery Christmas, all!

@Oldskool, I made an Old Fashioned in your honor this evening. :) It required a bit of adaption under the circumstances but you motivated me and it was well worth it. :yum

Very, very carefully, @Oldskool! I actually stabbed the end of the orange with a sharp fork and then held that with my left/“bad” hand, while I cut with my good right hand. It was a bit touch and go there for a minute, but well worth the effort. ;):joy::D
