Anyone have any idea what this wire/sensor is, or where it is suppose to be clipped? It is dangling by my right side faring on a 2019 Speed Triple RS.

To me, it looks like an unused electrical connector that has all individual ports blocked off. What optional equipment it would go to, I don't know. Subbed for answer!

    Heated grips connector!
It should be just tucked away and you can see the plastic mount has come away.
It's for the official grips though (hence 3 wires) as it appears on the dash.

In case you didn't know, the pointy 'V' bit at the bottom of your photo is designed to fix the connector in place by pushing it through a hole somewhere on the frame or other part of bodywork. The top bit of the V will then spring out after being pushed through the hole, holding it in place. The horizontal piece above the V will then sit on the frame on the side you pushed it through from.

It should be clipped to the top of a bracket behind the side panel near the top of the radiator.

Glad you cleared that up as I struggled to find reference to it anywhere in the service manual and hadn't a clue what it was for. It should be clipped to the top of a bracket behind the side panel.

Ah! Thank you everyone. Yes I knew it was a capped accessory wire, but had no clue what for, or where it is normally is clipped. I did a coolant flush a few months ago and had the side panels off. I must have knocked it loose and never noticed.

Thanks again, now I can ride around and my mind isn't thinking about that wire the whole time o_O

does anyone have a picture of this in situ - it would be useful to see and I might check mine as I had the side panels off mine when I had the bike gloss lacquered and don't remember any dangling connectors!!

I am in the middle of doing the dreaded 12000 miles service so my bike is in bits so I was able to take a photo but could not upload it even though the file size seemed to be ok? Might try again later. If you remove the side panel the connector should be clipped to the top of the panel bracket near the top of the radiator. If you take the panel off you will soon see if it is still clipped in place or not. I am off back in the garage now and about to check the valve clearances!
