Track Day

Really enjoyed the day at Snetterton on Sunday Track Day.
Novice group for me as i was still on 6000 revs limit.
It cornered well and tipped into bends so easy.
Overtaken on the straights as i could not give it the beans due to rev limit.

Two street triples also on track along with my speed.

 

Seriously thinking about a dedicated track bike, something value for money that if you have a fall wont break the bank. Every lap i completed on Sunday i added a bit more within my limits, but when its your road bike i kept talking to myself to reel it in. I am scouring ebay and MCN.

There were about 6 crashes, one in front of me, 650 Suzuki on cold tyres that just lost it coming out of the second hairpin. Ducati 1098s, he just ran across the grass and could not keep upright. Unfortunately a one day old Triumph Daytona 675R, took a spill, panels down the RHS with gear shifter pointing the wrong way.

Sundays track day was with No Limits. Only negative point was the novice group could have done with a little more of a briefing. Just 3 sighting laps, then away you go. The novice group i was in were very fast and some were obviously not novice. I had one track day under my belt some years ago at Cadwell, so half knew what i was in for, however for a complete track day first time novice it would have been a little intimidating.

I would recommend a track day, however a totally dedicated novice only track day is probably a good starting point.
