"If someone does a journey, he can tell a story". ... Freely after Matthias Claudius (1740-1815).
This weekend I spent intensively on the roads of Europe. On Friday I left Austria at 0230 o'clock with my car and made my way to Bosnia and Herzegovina to pick up my dear wife and drive back home. - Why the whole thing? Because of the current chaotic conditions with the European airlines, I preferred the car and my dear wife gave up the flight. After 17 hours of driving, 8 border crossings in 5 nation states (Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Hungary, Austria) and 1,440 km of travel, I arrived at home with her at 2200 hours. On Saturday we left with our bikes (TIGER 900 and HONDA NT-1100) at 0600 o'clock again to Bosnia and Herzegovina to spend the weekend there. After 8 hours of driving and another 720 km of road we arrived at our apartment at 1500 o'clock and recovered from the exertions of the two days of travel in temperatures of 35-37 degrees Celsius. On Sunday we visited the former Olympic winter sports venue Jahorina in the surroundings of Sarajevo. The way there is a wonderfully developed mountain road and ends in the village, which has meanwhile been developed into a luxury ski resort. From there we drove back towards Sarajevo on a small side road and had a few animal and road highlights. In a small village a free-ranging flock of sheep suddenly crossed our path. After a bend we were suddenly standing between loud cattle. For a few hundred meters of the route we were briefly accompanied by a large bird of prey that flew only a few meters above us. The "road"(?!?) was partly only an accumulation of asphalt remains. Our bikes were able to prove their qualities and we our driving skills. It was still wonderful. Tomorrow around 0500 o'clock I break again to Austria and finish the 3,000 km weekend. My wife remains with the TIGER on site and next weekend I leave for my 3rd West Balkan tour.

@Dougie D: Thanks! The Honda is great! No matter what the conditions, it rides incredibly well. The handling is always stable and easy to handle, regardless of speed. Even at high highway speeds or as last Saturday in all-day strong wind with gusts of >70 km / h, there are no abnormalities. The wind and weather protection is optimal. In addition, an extremely low consumption of 4.9l-5.1l/100 km at constant highway speeds in the range up to 140 km/h. Also the sound with the original exhaust system sounds really good. I also can not complain about the Metzeler tires of delivery, although I will replace them with Continental Road Attack 4 as soon as it becomes necessary. Overall am very happy with this bike!

@Armando Morales: Until this photo, I also didn't think how big the Honda really is. Compared to my former 1200 Tiger it is 50 kg lighter, but still compared to the 900 Tiger quite large.

Did you ad lead weights to the Tiger 1200? The NT1100 is 238kg or 248Kg with the DCT. That makes the Tiger 1200 at least 288kg! I have one, it aint that heavy!

No I did not have extra weights mounted on my TIGER 1200. :p But with the engine guards + the suitcase set comes a lot to it. I drive the Honda without DCT.

What an "adventure", @Markus! I loved your photos and I especially loved your descriptions of your "animal and road highlights". Oh, yes, and that is easily the biggest pizza I've ever seen! :p:joy:
