    Hey

Planning on taking the Thruxton RS, for a few days from Droitwich (near Birmingham) to Belguim.
As it'll be more than a couple of days
5 (2 of which travelling) - probably need more than a rucksack. What are the options? I have a cheap tank bag, though not sure the magnets will stay in place, given the raised fuel cap.

    Just want something simple. Options?

I'll post about my planned route another time, and I'd value any input people have :)

I have seen this on ebay - The wax cotton tank bag. I think they fit the Thruxton RS?? - now, how is it is to remove the bag, and fill up with fuel.

The kappa bag does look good. Is that price for x2 and require a mounting kit? - I wonder if you can just attach a bag to the pillion seat cover?

I assume the price is for two as the Velcro together over the top of the seat. No mounting kit required they just strap over the top and then have straps to somewhere lower down to secure them.

You can't go wrong with kriega bags did a tour round brittany 10 days on the speed twin and loads of room no problems. Just put the loops around frame rails under the seat and the bags attach to these with hooks and go on the rear seat
. You can add bags together to get the size you want and keep things separate. Oh and fully waterproof. I used 1x30 litre with 2x10 litre either side. Provided you don't have a pillion.

With you on the Kriega bags. I have a few different ones and rate them highly. Well made, waterproof, versatile and great quality generally.

Yeah, I’ve looked at the Kriega stuff. Annoyingly I have a nice Alpinestar rucksack already, so don’t really need a rucksack at the moment.

Tank bag wise, i haven’t seen anything ‘better than the triumph wax cotton one.
As I only have a few days there, probably don’t need side luggage.

Any other tank bag option before I buy the wax ones off eBay ? :)

They strap onto either the tank or seat like this…

you have the wax tank bag! It looks a good size. I think that and a rucksack should see me right for 6 days. I mean. Pants, t shirts, trainers and a wash kit. Problems solved

I had the wax cotton tank bag but didn’t get on with it so have changed to an Oxford one more recently.

It is a good size though but I’d still say a Kriega bag on the back is better than a backpack.

    Wax bag arrived ….
No fitting instructions and it’s a bit smaller than hoped. Heyho. It’ll fit a pair of trainers :)
