Hello from NW Kent. I’m a lifelong biker with many and various bikes along the way. Currently I am awaiting delivery of a Tiger 900 GT Pro for which I have traded in a BMW 1250 GS. The Beemer was getting too heavy for my ancient body to really enjoy and the Tiger seems a lot lighter - especially manoeuvring it at a standstill. I know I will miss a few things about the Beemer but I reckon the Tiger offers most of what the other had. This will become the 4th Tiger I have owned - a Tiger 100 and 110 in the sixties and an 800 three years ago, being its predecessors. Currently scouring the forums for wisdom regarding aftermarket stuff and things about the bike I need to be aware of. Chris
Chris and to the forum from Lincolnshire. Enjoy that Tiger 900 GT Pro, when you get it, and the forum too.
@Chris K Greetings and welcome to the forum, Chris! We'd love to see pics of that new bike when you get it. And I'll be especially curious to hear your opinion about how the Tiger compares to the 1250 GS. My hubby and I have a good friend who has the GS and love it. But he's aging (as we all are of course) and a couple of the things you mentioned already make me think the Tiger could possibly be a good bike for him to consider at some point.
@Sandi T I will certainly post my thoughts on the difference between the bikes when I get mine - soon now I hope!
Hi Chris This post maybe a bit late in the day but over two years ago I also traded in my BMW GS1200 for the Tiger 900 GT Pro and never looked back. Now done over 15,000 miles of trouble free biking. From my experience, fit a hugger and a front mudguard fender, this will keep the majority of the road dirt off your bike. Just about to fit my second set of Metzeler Tourance next tyres which i have found to be very good but may move onto another tyre in the future. hope you have enjoyed your new bike.
