Hi i bought a triumph explorer wednesday this week so 2 days ago, the dealer phoned me today and told me not to ride the bike, there is a safety issuse they werent sure what it was but triumph u.k said it was the last few made vin numbers triumph didnt even tell them what the problem was now i have only done 12 miles . Triumph head leicester then phone me and told me under no circumstances to use the motorcycle the dealer would pick it up tomorrow when i pressed the on the problem they would only say it was either a gearbox issuse or a drive shaft but the factory was going to try and sort it out next monday onwards they said it may take a few weeks?? , anyone had this on theyre 2016 triumph explorer.

I believe there are 25 explorers so a small batch that are affected by this problem triumph have said there is a extremely likely hood of the gearbox seizing in normal use ,LOL dont like the sound of that dealer picked the bike up this morning so wait and see time. :(

I wonder if laws like this, which are in line with EU requirements and offer protection for consumers, will change if we vote to leave?

Black horse are fine with rejecting the bike as I triumph after I spoke to the head of warranty and explained the October 2015 act however the dealer still wants to repair the bike even tho by law I have the right to a full refund When I had the problem Friday I spoke to the owner and he said I wouldn't be happy if it was my bike and we are 100% in your corner, how quickly things can change .

Having read this thread, my question is this: What do you want? The law is on your side so irrespective of what the supplying dealer wants to do, it's you that decides. So, what do you want to do?

Make up your mind and give instructions to dealer in writing. Tell them what you want to happen and by when.
