Hi, just purchased a 08 Triumph Bonneville with low mileage, back in the saddle after 15 year layoff and it is good to be back.

I have a busy work life which means I work 6+ days a week for most of the year, but as I am approaching retirement, I thought it time to have a bike in the garage to have some me time every now and then.

My question to you guys is:

I add Briggs and Stratton Fuel-Fit to my garden equipment so that when I need to start them, they do.

It works with fuel up to 15% ethanol and it says it is for garden equipment and vehicles and the fuel is good for up to three years.

What do you guys use as I guess there are many bikes spending many weeks peering out of the shed wishing they were on the road ,

    Very interested in your views,

    thanks guys

Hi Richard  If it's only for a few weeks like through the winter months with few nice days then I just use Super Unleaded as it's only 5% ethanol, if it's going to stand for a very long time then I would drain it ;)

    Hi again,

thanks for the replies, I have some news that if it works could be a game changer for low use bikes.

After adding my question on here, I went on to the Briggs and Stratton website to ask them.
I couldn't leave an email on the website, Their Facebook page said that they do not reply to messages and pointed me to main agents instead.

I rang them this morning and asked the question I posed and told them what it was all about.

The guy wasn't sure so he checked with his supplier and came back to me ten minutes later with what I was keep to hear, that being, Fuel Fit is good to use in "ALL PETROL ENGINES"

I will post how I get on as I have just added 10ml for each litre of petrol added yesterday ( less a little for that I used on the way home)

I now hope it will be trouble free when out riding at the weekend, I won't be going too far from home to start with though.

    Hi Rich and welcome!

I use E5 super unleaded in all of my older and carburettor intake based bikes and gardening equipment. I also use Fuel Fit for all of them when left for more than just a couple of months. Other brands are available! :p

Thanks for your welcome, I have been a fan of Triumph for years and have finally taken the plunge.

Glad to hear that you use Fuel Fit in your bikes, I couldn't see why we shouldn't but didn't want to look a mug (or any more of one) by clogging up my new toy before I get used to it.

I have been riding Honda Quads every work day for the past 22 years and this helped quell my urges but it was great to throw my leg over a two wheeler again after almost 15 years.

The road passes under the bike a little quicker than I remember but I guess that is due to age/experiences etc.

You can't beat two wheeled freedom can you, cheers
