Well . Just as I can see some light at the end of the tunnel, my wife has just tested positive. This means that we won’t be home before Xmas …. And will now have to arrange a Reservation at Hotel deCovid Isolation suite . Special rates for sick guests …. Feck knows what’s going to happen now. Somewhat pissed off…..
Lucky git.... There seems to be little rhyme or reason to it. I've been pinged 3 times now recently, the time before my mate tested positive later the same day and I'd been sat next to him at batting central for nearly an hour in the bar but didn't get it and neither did the others sat close to him either. Paste up and carry on firing.......
Epic fail that mate... do you still have to self isolate when you get back? It seems a but strange if you do as it's no longer compulsory/a legal requirement to do it in England now, just says you should, not must.
From what we are being told we have to isolate for 5 days over here in America. We have 2 more days left on the Covid Carrier and will then have to isolate in Château Covid. A well known Covid Specialty Hotel in Fort Lauderdale. And then get flights etc cancelled and rearranged to get home. No need to isolate at home now so I understand. But as we are retired we will spend a few days getting over Covid and Jet lag before going out and about. We will also self test… Next year it’s gonna be Butlins in Margate….
That's a bit grim, I'm hoping you have travel insurance that covers you for your short stay at Uncle Sam's insistence. Butlins and Margate....what a combo....

I think it's going to become rife again here in the U.S. as mandates and restrictions, etc. have been lifted nearly everywhere here. I just went back to work (in an elementary school) this past Monday after our week-long spring break. The school board lifted the mask mandate for students, staff, and visitors as on Monday. Although more students and staff continue to wear masks than not, an elementary school is a petri dish of "cooties" during the best of times so I'll keep wearing my mask at work for the time being. Please keep us posted on your stressful saga and hopefully that doom won't impend.
Oh, no......I just saw this post after I commented about your wife and Larry, @Oldskool. I'm really sorry to learn that your wife has also tested positive. Geez..... Well, hopefully her symptoms will be mild at least. Hang in there, both of you.
@littleade Sorry to read about your positive Covid test but glad that your symptoms are mild. Hopefully you won't suffer any aftereffects and will be good enough to go golfing again soon. Or perhaps you'll give up golf now? It is a dangerous activity so I've heard. It can cause Covid. On a serious note, take care and get well f-a-s-t!
