Good Day Everyone: Hello from the East coast of Canada! Looking forward to participating in the forum and hopefully I'll be able to add some good content or helpful advice in the future. I live in Halifax and recently acquired my 2017 800 XCA in December and try get out on it on days when the temperature is above 0 degrees Celsius during the winter. I have already put about 600 kms on it. Warmer temperatures are coming so I will be out daily then. I owned a Honda NX250 and then 1987 Transalp before the Tiger. I am loving every minute of the Tiger and plan to tackle some more difficult trails as I get used to it. My username comes from the famous schooner "Bluenose II" which was built in 1921 and still sails as an ambassador to my province. People from Nova Scotia are sometimes referred to as Bluenosers. The Bluenose II is on the front of the Canadian Dime Thanks for letting me join and I hope to chat soon! Best Regards, David
Welcome along, David. I think we've all learned something today from your name. I'm sure I speak for many when I say we look forward to some appealing images from Canada, lovely place that it is.
Bluenose II and to the forum from Lincolnshire. Enjoy that Tiger, and the forum too. Will look forward to some fantastic pictures from Nova Scotia, in the coming months.
Thank you Octoberon! The best image I have right now shows snow in the background from Feb 2nd - yikes!! At least our snow is all gone now.
Welcome to the forum. My wife is from Moncton, NB but moved down to South Carolina 25 years ago. Pre covid we were planning a Cabot Trail ride and now that things are moving forward we're back to planning that for this summer. Fly in to Halifax and rent a couple of bike and ride out that way for a few days and then back. Crossing our fingers it will finally work out and I can see another beautiful part of Eastern Canada.
Hey RebelHawk: I actually bought my bike in Moncton from Rallye Motoplex. My brother is in NC - so not too far from you. I was just out for a ride and it is only about 4 C so it is not as temperate as where you are! Hope all goes well with your travels this summer. Cabot Trail is definitely on my list too.
Hi there! Welcome! I assume that like me, you are also a "cool" rider. There is basically no such thing as bad weather, only the wrong equipment and inappropriate speed. Our TIGERs perform also in cold weather very good!
Hi David and welcome to the forum bluenose is also my favourite eating fish, looking forward to seeing the ride
Hi Markus! The heated grips and seats make the winter rides tolerable. But who am I kidding? We'd be out anyway with more warm clothes on without those other comforts.
