As the weather was a sunny 8C when I set out, I decided for this week's ride to only wear one fleece top forgo the fleecy leggings (sorry, 'base layer' ;)). This turned out to be the correct choice and it felt great to be 'liberated' and move without restriction, definitely a 'now it's spring' feeling, :grinning: though I did wimp out after an hour and turn on the heated socks and grips.

Travelling a route I've done many times I found a 'new' spot with nice view of the Welland valley, It's the start of a byway down to the valley floor that's open to motorised traffic May-Sept, though being mostly a steep grassy track, not for a 'cruiser' with street tyres. As it was I had to turn off traction control and walk the bike out from the spot where I picnicked and took this photo...

(I wished I'd taken my camera with me today, as my phone camera is pretty crappy.)

Edit: I've just looked on Google maps and this is a byway across the valley via 'Turtle Bridge', I've seen the other end off the B672 many times.

I cursed the fcking weather forecast...me and Mrs W were heading over Cardigan way to the coast (forecast dry 13c) just past Carmarthen the heavens opened, of course no waterproofs and wearing our usual open face helmets, spent the rest of the day chasing non existent blue skies, retreat to cafe for pasty and chips 20220317_131528.jpg

I took a day off work today as I have some annual leave left this year and the forecast looked good, plus @Helmut Visor had the day off too.

We started the day with a quick ride to the garage to get the Tuono MOTd, then had a nice 80 mile ride around the local area, including a stop at Sally's Place which is beside the road at British Camp in Malvern; really friendly place with decent enough coffee and sausage butties. There were two other bikers there today so we had a quick chinwag; one on his new RE Interceptor and another who looked to be late 60s on his L Plates getting into biking.

Most importantly it was the warmest it has been for aaaaages so it was nice to wear one less layer!!

Hi Aaron. Just got round to see your thread. It looks perfect.
Have you had any issues with there EP sat nav bracket after all this time. I just purchased the same bracket. Installing it later.
Must admit I had forgotten about the possible adjustable windshield issue (length of cable). Watched the few videos on Youtube this morning.
Note to self. Install with the windshield adjusted in to its highest position.

Only 46litre but it always looks bigger in photos (ooh er matron) holds two helmets to save carrying them around if we're going to beach or walking in the beacons, which is most weeks. Different angle shows it could only accommodate 1 somali stowaway 20210929_151524.jpg

Fitted my quick shifter to the bike, now need to change the oil and filter and give it a check over. I also removed, cleaned and greased the rear hub.

Took the wife's striple for a check-up run. Tested new brake pads, adjusted tyre pressure, all good.

I went out early to town today to the hairdresser's, he was unimpressed ("How would you like it dried today?" "It really doesn't matter, I am going to shove a helmet on") and then came home a longer way round in the beautiful sunshine.

I took the Daytona out for a good long run today, making the most of the much awaited Spring weather. Stopped for lunch and parked next to this yellow beauty (Ferrari 488 Spider)

Went by my dealer today, picked up a spare part. Also first ride of the year in jeans and leather jacket. Felt good!

Took a run up to Dufftown as it was a beautiful day
Stopped off for a quick photo of one of only 7 remaining AA Boxes in Scotland, this one is north of Braemar
    AA Box.jpg

Once on the road to Dufftown i took a little detour to make a guest appearance in TOWIE !
    Towie.jpg

The clock tower in Dufftown was built to commemorate the Diamond jubilee of Queen Victoria
    Clock Tower.jpg

I left Dufftown and headed for Tomintoul decided to take a short detour to the Glenlivet Distillery, I'll put some other photos of the inside later (it has been refurbished inside and they have made a great job)
    Glenlivet.jpg

After Tomintoul i stopped off at a square box that sits up on a hill at the side of the road, I've noticed it in the past and wondered what it was, but never stopped before. it is called "Still Viewpoint"
    Still viewpoint.jpg

View from standing inside the "box"
    Still viewpoint 2.jpg

From there i took the B road that takes you past Nethy Bridge and comes out at Coylumbridge, i then took the road up to the Cairngorm Ski Centre not far from Aviemore, i stopped of at Loch Morlich first to get a coffee
    Loch Morlich.jpg
but the café was closed unfortunately
    Cafe Loch Morlich.jpg
the car park up at the Ski Centre was surprisingly busy as there wasn't much snow left on the mountains, i took the bike right up to where the ski lifts are
