    A little more done, timed and fitted cam gears and new Morgo oil pump, fitted new pistons and barrels after gapping rings. fitted refurbed cylinder head and rocker boxes.

    Never going to be a show bike, as long as they are as close to what came out the factory and we can ride them then that's the target mate :)

    I always use them as there are to many dodgy standard pattern replicas around plus they are made in the UK Adie :)

    I don't use them as i use classic 20/50 engine oil and change it every 1000-1500 miles.

    i run a spin on filter on my race bike just on general principles for a stressed motor that is likely to shed metal internally. but i dont use a filter on anything else, either. like you, just expensive oil that i change more often than anybody recommends.

    I often use a piece of tissue and catch some oil from the oil tank return outlet in the tank after a ride and look for metallic bits :)

    I managed a few hours work this week, fitted the rebuilt gearbox parts, timed the cams and set up the TDC and 38° BTDC marks ready for the Boyer ignition, fitted the clutch alternator and new primary chain, polished outer covers and fitted the primary and outer gearbox covers, fitted both exhausts after making some extended brackets for the tail pipes as they are more upswept than the standard parts.

    darkman, looking good. Are you putting baffles in the exhaust? I put some in my 59 Spitfire, it does take that sharp bark away.

    Tigers started in '69 didn't they? Trophys before that? Or was it Trophy Special for the Competitions, pffft....those single carb models, who'd have one eh?

    How come I can't get my covers as nicely polished as those, there's always those ally blemishes - do you keep going with the elbow grease till they go?

    There is a lot of confusion over Tiger and Trophy as to was it 68 or 69 and was it low pipes or high lol, i'm not building this bike as factory correct and you can only get a tiger competition decal as in 68 and as its a 67C but styled as an 66 SC i used a bit of artistic licence :) as for the cases i have a high speed buffer :) They soon dull down a bit for that more natural sheen though :)

    I use the Harris half race 9989 exh and 3134 inlet cams with the standard woodruff key factory setting, i don't ever bother dialling them in to check duration or lift as they work fine in a standard engine.
