My next mod is to have a crack at converting my front stand to one that supports the headstock like the ProBike one Tim has.

From a related thread on this forum have a look at https://www.dynamotousa.com/. Expensive at just under a grand USD but some good ideas.

if you already have track stands you can probably adapt them. Google “multidirectional wheels” and you takes your pick.

One feature I thought was good and would give JB peace of mind is the anti-tilt handle that clips onto the upright rear stand leg.

Before I started using the Harris one, I put the bike on the R&G one, stood beside it and carefully pushed it forward with the handlebars - it would lift. I've got total confidence with the Harris one. If I try the same thing, the stand just slides flat across the floor (there's no friction as the garage floor has some cheap foam interlocking tiles)

Even a poor rear stand would be stabilised by use of a front stand. For the Harris front pin in yoke stand, there is a 20mm (ish) square bar that the pin is on that slides into the head of the stand - I guess so it could be used on other bikes with just the change of the pin bracket. As it just slides in I could do with drilling, tapping and fitting a small grub screw to fasten it (or a bead of clear silicon would do). When lowering the front, sometimes you take the stand away leaving the pin in situ which could drop on the mudguard/fender. A tad annoying but easy to resolve.

I initially tried the cheaper under fork stand from Harris but it wouldn't work as the calliper brackets are too low on the fork leg.
