    EDIT, (DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY) 400/4 waiting to get picked up today and taken to honda classics restoration,, REPEAT, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. for a complete engine strip and refurbishment.
    Hopefully it will be back looking and running sweet in time for spring. IMG_20220113_135600.jpg
    Update,, spring has come and gone & thanks to covid and whatever else, this restoration has ground to a halt, or its at crawling pace.
    Owner of the company is now on holiday for 2weeks and will crack on when he returns. This 3/4 month job is now 6 and counting. Not a chance it will be finished by autumn. If anyone is near to Daventry & cares to pop round to Honda classics restoration,it may get the wheels in motion.

    Not very well,, I had hoped it was a carburettor issue, but I decided that after the amount of money that was spent replacing parts I would be better getting the bike stripped and complete refurb on the engine.An attempt at painting the engine by the previous owner was also very badly done.

    Cheers curly, all the major components have been replaced it just the engine that needs done, I will also have the clocks refurbished next year. Hopefully that will finish my spend on what is really just a hobby bike,, take it out on sunny days. Its a nice ornament in the garage next to the moto morini,, I wouldn't want to go too far on them.

    Fabulous bike and one of the few bikes I have owned for longer than a couple of years. I had one in the late 70s and toured all over Europe on it. I then treated it to a 500cc big bore kit which turned it into a rocket! Handling and performance were unmatched in its day.

    Blimey. The 400/4 was my dream bike when I was in my late teens (1978/9) :heart_eyes:

    Great bike the 400/4.
    I had a red one in the 80's, with a white full-fairing and a straight through exhaust - epic sound !

    In 1975 I did the RAC/ACU training scheme on my Starfire. The instructors came on their own bikes ranging from a Velocette Thruxton to a Norton Commando and loads in between but the one bike that drew lots of attention was a 400 four, so smooth and clean looking with those 4 pipes going into one.
    Never had one myself but had a 750 four.

    Way back in 1976 me and 2 mates were off on a camping holiday on our mopeds to North Wales, I was on my FS1E, the others on a Garelli Tiger Cross and a Gilera Trail.
    We were steaming along somewhere between Audlem and Whitchurch at 30mph when a brand new red Honda 400/4 came flashing by.
    It sounded and looked just great, we all remarked on it later that day ( much later ) when we arrived at the campsite.
    Left a memorable impression on me for sure.

    Lovely bike Pedro,
    When my wife passed her test in early 90`s i bought her a maroony/red one of these & we both loved it. It was in vgc but nowhere near yours! I paid £750 for it , kept it 3 years & sold it for the same money. Cant say that about many of my motorcycle purchases:)

    Still got my Haynes manual and a clutch holding tool for one of those.......had one for three years, blinding little bike. :)

    I too had a 400/4 in the early eighties, it had "4 into 4" pipes instead of the 4 into 1 system. It also had special rear footpeg mounts to clear the raised silencers.
    It sounded absolutely awesome, and was one those bikes I always regretted letting go.
