Hello people. I had a chrome T120 tank made in India for a project I'm doing. It arrived with the Triumph badges and the rubber knee pads and brass screws that go in the holes in the side of the tank.

The holes in the pads have metal inserts in them. The screw heads are larger than the metal inserts. Am I suppose to whack these pads on with a huge rubber mallet to get the screw heads past the metal inserts?

Thanks in advance. I asked at Triumph dealer. They had no idea. Go figure.

    Thanks in advance.

Looks like you have to get the metal inserts out using something like a pair of needle nosed pliers, then put the screws through the inserts, screw them on to the tank, then press the knee pads on to the screws and inserts.

This is always assuming you can separate the inserts from the knee pads in the first place.
