    Hello all!

First of all, english is not my mom language so sorry for all misspelings or weird expressions.

Well, many Tiger 900 users started having an issue with the bike. There is one guy that its suffering really badly this, and his dealer is not able to fix it.

When you are riding, and you want to downshift from 2nd to 1st, as soon as you press the clutch, motorbike shuts off. YES. It shuts off. This is very dangeorus. Luckily for most of us it happened on a flat road, straight line. Once you realized what the heck happened, you are able to trigger the starter button with no problem. This is happening very very randomly, and to most of us only happened once.

Well in my Triumph Spain Telegram group we are already 10 guys with this problem, plus the guy with who is suffering this problem very badly. He has videos with happening this many times.

I would like to know, if there are more people with this problem all over the world.

    Any guesses?

    Thanks for your time

    Hi there!
Wow, that's a worrying problem with potentially serious issues if in traffic.
Unfortunately, as it's not something that happens all of the time, it’s very difficult to fault find and triumph will probably say "can’t get it to go wrong mate" and say there's no problem :(:(
I have it with the speed triple (rs '18) cutting out/stalling when turning left at junctions but it’s so intermittent that I can’t get them to believe me :(
And, that's also when shifting down to first gear and slowing down.
They tried to blame the quickshifter but when I said that i didn’t have one fitted (i do now), they kept quiet.

What a shame that its happening to some different triumph models and not to few, and they still don't actuate to fix it. WTF.

    That's a BIG problem that's simply dangerous.
Mine's not as bad as that and mine has happened about 5 times so I can’t be ready for it to happen with a camera like the video above. I just know that i've been coming up to a junction and turning left when it's happening to me.
I was blamed by Triumph for not riding it correctly.....
Total rubbish but that's their answer to me.
As it's going to be in warranty, i'd take it to the dealer and insist it's sorted and sent an email to triumph uk with that video too.

I had a tiger 800 that would stall like that on the odd occasion. In the short time I had it I learned to consciously fully release the clutch when downshifting and pulling up to a stop. I had it in my head that it stalled sometimes when I was going from 3rd or higher down to 1st without fully releasing the clutch lever between gears. Its still a problem that shouldn't happen though.
@Ducatitotriumph if you think your having issues when turning left, it sounds like it could be an issue with the wiring loom round the headstock?

First of all is letting know TRIUMPH FACTORY this is happening. If we go just to the dealers they would not give a f¨ck about the problem.

Just made the 10k km service, told them the shut off problem and they told me I had some software updates pending... let's see if this happens again.

Also interested in any fix for this. Any time I shift from 3rd to 2nd without engaging the clutch, the engine instantly dies. (2020 900 GT).

Looking at the Rat forum it looks like the software issue was the fuel map, an update was created and apparently no issues on bikes since that has been downloaded, but it looks like relatively early days.

Hello. Does anyone know the solution to the problem? For me, the same thing happens in Rally Pro 2021
Tiger purchased in Poland. Next week I give it to the service

I had the same problem with my Tiger Rally Pro 900 stalling when slowing down and downshifting. And it happend randomly. I took it back to the dealer who solved it with a software update. This was 2 years ago and it has never happend again.

I've had this issue happen twice on my 900 Rally 2020 Model , changing gear from 2nd to 3rd
My bike has been back to the dealer as i had a service light come on, when it didn't need a service, I'm hoping they installed the software upgrade then!
