Triumph Scrambler 1200 Heat Reduction / Issue

Hope it works for you! I cut the cat out of mine when I had it in an attempt to reduce the heat. I didn't feel any noticeable difference though

 

I sold my bike within a year of purchasing it (at a loss really when I think about it) as I couldn't live with the heat from the exhaust. Was told by dealer and Triumph head office that no one else complained about it and it was within tolerances. My right leg did not agree with this.
Shame we don't have a proper lemon law in the UK. everyone decatting their bikes are really missing the point and bypassing a serious design issue and not really holding Triumph to account to get it properly fixed, or not promote these bikes as road bikes and as pure off road bikes. Not bitter btw as have moved on, but I am constantly reading of the heat issue so I know it wasn't just me..... loved the bike too and would have kept it otherwise.

 

I soon got rid of mine too! The heat and a few other issues seen the bike sold within about 3 months

 

I love the look and concept of the Scramblers, but the high pipe just ruins it. I get the reason for the placement. And I get it doesn't bother many folks. But heat is like vibration. Everyone has a different level of tolerance for each. Me, I'm not very tolerant for either!
