    @Dougie D
What year and model is your mate's old Harley, Dougie?? The bit I can see in the photo is sweet looking. Do you have another photo of it that shows the whole bike? I'm quite curious about it now.

Luckily i took a photo of it yesterday! it's one of the first Street Bobs, about 15 years old i think, but it had not been looked after very well, he didn't want to do a major custom job on it, as he already did that with a previous Harley, but he has changed the bars, pipe, seat, rear shocks, different springs in the front and one of our mates did a subtle paint job for him (that was a major hold up for him as the painter was really busy with other paint jobs) he has added some other bits to it but he didn't want to change it too much. i don't know what the mileage is but it runs and sounds great

Yep, you'll start spending money on pretty things next. Venhill brake lines, drilled brake discs, cafe seat, new tank, paint, ally wheels, stainless spokes....

Thanks for the great photo of your friends Harley, Dougie! I was pretty sure from your initial photo that it was a Street Bob. Based on the gray engine components, I suspect it's a 2009. I think that was the only year H-D did that on the Street Bob. I really like what he has done with this bike. It looks terrific--subtly different from stock but improved to my eye.

My very first motorcycle was a 2010 Street Bob so that particular model holds a special place in my motorcycle heart. Here's mine on the day I was taking it to trade in. It would have been fun to be able to keep this one as it was a great bike. Plus it was my "gateway drug" into motorcycles. ;):joy:

And now, sorry for my thread derailment, back to what we've been doing with our TRIUMPHS today.:joy:

Been sitting with it in the garage watching it rain every day for the past week, and expecting the same for the next.

Got caught by the rain with an open face lid on my noggin. Damn, forgot how much that can hurt, face feels like it's been pebble dashed.

Oh well, time to wash the bike...

Took the other half out on my trophy to a triumph dealer to look around. Had a good chat with the salesman, both of us had a seat on the T100, T120 and speedmaster 1200. I was surprised how much heavier the T120 felt heaving it off the side stand compared to the T100 which felt nice and light. Maybe the 120 had a full tank and the other empty. I definitely preferred the T100. The speedmaster was a novel position for me, it felt a fun place, bent knees when sat with feet on the ground, cool swept back bars, but seat felt uncomfortable with bumps and lumps everywhere they shouldn't be. Other half agreed. Plus I'd need the bars swept back further as my arms weren't long enough...We also decided we are not a fan of the matt black paintwork that was on the T120 black, and that seat was like a plank. Anyhow now got to decide if I like any enough to test ride as they all fitted both of us unlike the royal enfields last week. Must have a look at the street twin though as they didn't have a demo one around. Oh yeah, loved the fake carbs on the T120... a nice touch.
Climbed aboard a Tiger 900, couldn't even swing a leg over with it on the side stand. Had to use the footpeg to get some height. Decided it's not for a short legged fella like me. Fine when I was on it though.
Next plan is to have a look at the Kawasaki Z900 RS...
Always a good excuse to take the bike out and fun was had by both of us.

Nice ride down to the coast last Wednesday at West bay, Dorset (the sea is behind the houses, honest...).
Nice motorbike parking area as well.
Tried out the new comfort air seat pad. Worked really well on the 220 mile round trip, once I had adjusted the air pressure, you only need a little bit. I pumped it right up at first and it was like sitting on a jelly. Then I read the instruction and let most of the air out Lol.

Put the foot pegs and top box on (only for the missus!) for the MotoGP next weekend. She’ll only go on it when it’s on as she doesn’t like it without something to have against her back.
    Can’t blame her tbh.

Hi brown mouse, I got the Profi dot laser the 'new' smaller one and it doesnt really fit easily anywhere, the mount for paddock stand bobbins stops it from traveling forward to the drive sprocket. The only semi stable place I found was near the drive sprocket facing back towards the rear sprocket.
Just thought I would let you know...

Took my trophy with my other half out to a RSPB reserve in Cambridgshire, Fen Drayton Lakes, loaded up with 6Kg of photography kit plus a days worth of food and drinks. Parked up and wandered off for 6hrs or so strolling through some lovely countryside. I actually took some photos of the bike this time.

Plus I've added an image of the great ouse river, where we sat on the river bank for a while as plenty of boats sailed by and a kingfisher put in an appearance.

Met a very nice fellow motorcyclist on a SWM six-days who had an almost identical jacket to me, not much of a coincidence about that you say, thing was we both bought them in the early 90's...

I had a new triumph rear monoshock fitted in late 2019, but had never checked the damping settings on it. It was fine, so I decided to play with it... I set it to factory settings and then was out loaded up a few days ago and it was wallowing a bit on the bumpy back roads we have. So I added a couple more clicks to the damping and it's back to normal again. I should have just left it alone...

I even ended up doing some off-roading on it, well it was a badly potholed gravel road, I mean some of the holes must have been 8 to 10 inches deep. They were strategically placed so that it was almost impossible to miss them all. Hit a big un' and grounded out the belly pan ooops... I can definitely see the advantage of those adv bikes.

These came today. Jolly nice quality for less than a score each. I thought it was about time to renew the brake lines on the T140.

    0001.jpg

I've also got a few of these to paint

    0002.jpg

Done a couple but still a couple to do and then apply the 2 pack lacquer/clear

    0003.jpg

I'll have a selection, instead of plain. Yes, I know, but it is a '77 bike.
