Hi. Although I’ve been a biker for 50 years, I’ve never owned a British bike… despite being born and bred here. I currently own a BMW R1250R Sport which is an excellent bike, but age-wise I’m running out of time to own a British bike before I hang up my helmet, so I’m considering selling it for a new SpeedMaster. I’ve joined the forum to tap into the experience and wisdom that’s here. Thanks.

I had a 1200 speedmaster, a very capable bike. Comfortable and easy to ride….

Thanks. Looking at reviews of the latest model, they seem to be exactly as you describe.

Hi Malcvtr and welcome to the forum  love my Bonneville Speedmaster 1200. Endless torque and comfort. If over 5’11” you may want to lift the beach bars (unless you go old school. Apes :p)

That looks glorious  I'm just over 5' 11" so I should be OK. I really need to get a test ride going.

Welcome to the family. As for a bike i think you already have your mind made up and only you can answer the question. What i would advice is get a test ride. Not just a jaunt up the road get some mile to make up your mind. Then when you decide hit the upload a file button bottom right corner and show it of here in the asylum to all the inmates. Hell even let us see the Beemer.
    Joe.

Hi Joe. Thanks. I would have got a test ride by now except for a medical issue that I hope will be resolved soon. Although the SpeedMaster is top of my list, I'd like to try the T120 and, as a contrast, the Speed Twin. Hopefully I can get that arranged! I'll have a go at uploading a picture of the Beemer  20200717_143229.jpg

Greetings and welcome to the forum, malctvr! Good luck with you decision regarding your Triumph choice. There are many members on here who I'm sure can be of assistance with your decision based on their knowledge and experience with each of the bikes you're considering. But I'm betting the test rides will seal the deal. Please keep us posted and share some photos of the one you choose! Hope you enjoy the forum, too. :)
