Motorcycle And Sidecar Hire In The Lake District

    I wonder if anyone ooop north can help me with this. Me and OH are staying at Ravenstonedale late August and would like to hire an outfit for a few days. Does anyone happen to know of a business that might be able to help with this? I found a link to one through Tripadvisor and after making contact I found out he closed that business down 7 years ago.

    Hi Flashp, to the best of my knowledge there are no companies in the Lake District that offer combination outfits for hire, there are some fantastic roads around that area, I was round there last week for a ride out, does your other half not fancy riding pillion with you as that gives you an option.

    That is what I would do. I have one of my own I keep for the winter months or when the Mrs. wants to go along (she refuses to ride a bike). My soft top is 19 yrs. old, but paid for and I keep it in shape. ...J.D.

    A good suggestion. My OH won't get on a bike although she likes them and I wanted to share the bike experience with her. I'll have a look at cars but I'm not sure how excited I'll get about that :confused:

    No, she likes bikes but has no interest in getting on one unfortunately. Maybe I'll hire a van for the holiday and take my bike :)

    Actually, I'm having a problem even finding bike hire. Maybe I'll hire a van and take my own...

    Don't know WHAT you can rent for a fun convertible over there. Most rentals here are not even manual transmissions anymore. That was where my Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder originally came from. It started life as a rental on the Las Vegas Strip. I bought it from a wholesaler when the lease ran out. At the the time he had a whole fleet of these. ...J.D.
