Anybody know 'bout this? Any experience, good or bad? I'm just about to pull the trigger so would really appreciate some feedback. I think it's a kinda boring colour scheme and definately doesn't stand out in traffic. But it sits nicely on my head... ;) Thank's in advance.

I've got an Arai Phil Read reace replica which is very similar and I've never had a problem, a very comfortable helmet...

God make and if it fits well ,then you should go for it.
    Fit is everything
No experiance of Arai helmets myself as they don't seem to fit me that well.
If they did I would have no qualms about buying one as they do seem to produce good quality helmets

Always had Arai. Only helmet that ever really fitted well, current one 5 years use now and still going strong.
Only get one head, worth buying a good helmet to protect it.

  6. As per Gary, fit is everything and its the reason I use one. I think the competition have caught up on quality and are better on price but fit is the most important factor.

Thank you all. I'll go for that one. My present is 'round 8 - 10 years and saved my head once, so well over due... ;)

If it's saved your head once, that was the time to get a new one!!!
The polystyrene lining is designed to compress / collapse on impact, and is a one hit wonder. Can't compress twice.

Get them to show you how to change visor on an arai. LINK to video's Can be tricky to start with, I've shown loads people how to, sounds like your gonna snap it, but is quiet easy once you've practised a couple of times.

And occasionally spray some tyre black / bumper shine into the hinge mechanism, silicone lubricates it nicely and helps when changing visor.

Looks good and a reputable make - but it's all in whether it fits you comfortably or not.

Thank's again for good advice !

  12. By the way, I like the look of it, nice design.

I've bought 2 other visors for mine from racevisors.co.uk as they are the cheapest non copy and normally come with a free visor bag. Still ridiculously expensive though...

Great helmets. Currently running an Arai Chaser V Schwantz rep. If you have an "Arai Head", there's nowt like 'em.

I swear by Arai's. They are by far the most comfortable and well fitting helmets I've used. The only thing wrong with them is their fiddly visor change mechanism, which can result in a broken side pod cover - replacements are available, but they're not cheap (speaks from bitter experience!)
I've found you fall into one of two camps - you've either got an Arai shaped head or a Shoei shaped head. I don't know anyone that's comfortable with both brands.

    Agree with tomo...

I like some shoei helmets but the fit isnt great on my head. Arai M and agv ML fit me great.

Never been able to get a really comfortable Arai lid, my old Shoei lid was the dog's danglers till it got smacked by a lump of rock flung up off the road . My present lid soon to be replaced is a Shark Evoline, good quality, reasonable price and a good fit.

The Arai St Pro series has more space between your head and the chin guard area.

I where Arai brilliant helmet although they are noisier than the average.
