I don't have a QS on mine - so comparisons are of interest !

I am looking forward to the test, but I really want to compare it to 1290R SuperDuke, not to the Speed RS that I have.

Agreed, that is sort of my personal take on the new 1160. However much performance they have stuffed into the 1160 will be fine as a road bike, and I hope everything such as the qs/ab are on point. My one ask is that lower rpms didn't get dinged with the short stroke (dropped from 71.4mm to 60.8). Though we already know 6th got about 15% shorter per the released Owners Manual.

I believe the minimal tq lost on the new motor will be negligible with the rate the new mill spins up. It revs so damn fast now-

I was really hoping the torque would be a lot more on the new bike rather than concentrating on just bhp, the 1050 is a great bike and the only thing I felt it could be improved on was low down grunt

It will be interesting to hear what owners and reviewers has to say about the seating position, if its a lot different than from today.

Hey, did you hear the news about the new Triumph dealership that just opened north of Stockholm? Same people that own Desmocenter and Motorrad Center. Far as I can tell they seem to have a pretty good reputation so there might finally be a competent Triumph dealer in the Stockholm area.

I'm cautiously hopeful and slightly more excited about the 1200 now.

Can't believe there hasn't been any new videos or pictures of the bike yet though. Aren't customer bikes suppose to arrive this month? The new S1000R isn't officially arriving until May and there are already a couple of videos and pictures out there of it already at dealers.

I suppose we might have had a couple of UK vids of the Speed by now if it wasn't for the lockdown though. Kinda like how BMW arranged a small test ride in Germany for a couple of German journalists a few weeks ago.

I can only agree, brilliant news with this new dealership. And judging from what I have heard about Desmocenter and Motorrad Center they seem to be good at what they are doing.
So congrats Triumph owners around the Stockholm area (such as myself), it does seem like they do give a toss about Sweden after all.

I saw a new video for the 2021 Tuono and since there are some of the S1000R I can only imagine Triumph or a dealership will post some soon.

There have been couple short YT videos, but all that happened was the bike was stationary and revved a little bit. The first one is on a rear stand so the tire is moving a little and the speedo moves a little. These are both from February, but it's April now.

Niiiiice, first thought....looks very responsive. But that could be just me trying to argue that the bike is so much better so that I need to order one.
I wonder if they have fixed the throttle play this time or if people need to get the little plastic bit all new drive by wire bikes seem to need (not the Tuono tho).

Oh yeah I did see those back when they were posted. Had kinda forgotten. I'm also not sure I really count them though since the quality was so bad, the videos so short, and they didn't really show anything new that wasn't shown during the launch.

I want something more like this (but preferably in English):

I'm genuinely sad to see the new face of the S1000R, I miss the old oddly shaped bugeyes, its a lot better than this new design.

All of the new triumphs are probably stuck in the suez canal........
Or, that's the excuse they’ll have ready...

Not sure where the new Speed Triple is built, but even if it is assembled in the UK I guess it needs parts from other parts of the world.

Makes you realise how fragile everything is when a blocked c anal affects our lifes...
My thoughts go out to all of those who is dying to get their hands on IKEA bookshelf Billy....apparently they are stuck on that ship too....

I do wish triumph would do something about the paint scheme options. The Matt grey is ok but spoils with the “Rossi “ yellow flashes. The black is nice but why does it has to have “RS” badged so big on the fuel tank. A classic british brand doesn’t need to shout about it and look so chavvy IMO.

I agree Triumph need to do something about the paint... but I want the old lime green, or the tango orange, I don't want flouro stickers, or matt paint

I have a new Speed Triple on order. I hope it’s not significantly delayed I agree the paint options of either Matt silver or gloss black are disappointing - I went gloss black as I don’t like Matt paint.

Could always get it resprayed I suppose, its not as if there’s actually a lot of bodywork that needs painting, it’s not like respraying a car!

I agree about the colours. They aren't "bad" or ugly just a bit bland.
I would have struggled to choose between the two thats available now. Would prob go for the black although I did love my matt street triple R ages ago.

Would be nice to see the burnt matt orange that was available on the street triple as an option of the lime green, I deffo had a soft spot for the lime green one.

Owners manual is available for anyone interested: https://images.triumphmotorcycles.c...d triple 1200 rs owners handbook english.pdf

One "major" issue I've found while perusing the manual is that the pillion seat/cover appears to be attached using a torx bolt as oppose to an electrically controlled lock to match the new all keyless design.

Might seem a small thing, which it really is tbh, and it wouldn't be an issue if it wasn't for the fact that two locks are required for insurances to be valid in Sweden (steering lock counts as one valid lock). Not having an easily accessible storage area under the pillion seat where a disc lock can be stored might just be a deal breaker honestly -- which is a real shame.
