After much soul searching and research, my Speedmaster has finally been sold and next week I take delivery of my ‘new’ Tiger XCx. I say new (it’s a late 2017) fully loaded with just 2200 miles on the clock! I can’t wait to put a few thousand more on it.....

Congrats on your new-to-you Tiger, Ken! :) We'll be eager to see some photos of it when you take delivery next week.

Was it difficult to say goodbye to your Speedmaster? As the Speedmaster and the Tiger are quite different, what led to your decision to make the change if I may ask?

I actually bought the Speedy on a whim, and to be brutally honest I didn’t get on with it from the off. It was the first (and last) cruiser I ever had and at the time I just fancied one. When I had bitten the bullet and decided to change, I wanted to make sure I got what I wanted so I wasn’t chopping and changing every few months. So really, as my wife put it at the time - “Why à Speedmaster? That’s different to anything you’ve ever ridden before”.....

You will enjoy the Tiger - more versatile than a Speedmaster :D

On a very rainy and windy day in Norfolk, she finally arrived!

Can’t wait to get out on her for a familiarisation ride!

    Woo how!

So glad your bike finally arrived, Ken! Enjoy! Nothing like a new bike to make one feel like a little kid again. :):kissing_heart:

That's a cool steed and the grin tells it all. We wait for the ride report. Thanks for sharing.

Just bought my first Triumph a Tiger 800 XRx 18 plate after about 10 Kawasaki’s . Hope I get on with it, being delivered in a couple of weeks didn’t want it sitting in the garage temptation to great, all the best with your new bike

Please share some photos of your new Tiger 800 XRx when you get it, @GrumpyGranpa! Out of curiosity, what led you to Triumph after 10 Kawi's??

Still own a ZZR600 & 1987 Z750 but getting a bit creaky in the joints, wanted something to tour on and the 800 low version seemed like an armchair the second I sat on it, couldn’t work out why the 18 model felt more comfortable than 17 one until I found out about the very subtle changes
