OK - so I've managed to get out this morning - a little chilly but a nice 65 mile jaunt around the North Yorkshire Moors. I tried the nav via the My Triumph app and it all worked through to my headset. While listening to Apple Music from the iPhone on the headset, I could control the tracks, adjust volume etc. The nav voice from the app would just lower the volume of the music so that I could here the instructions clearly. Two little niggles:

    1. On the switch cube (Street Triple RS 2020) you can pause the nav and I did - for some reason it then wouldn't un pause and continue. It may be because by the time I tried I was 40 miles further on. I should've just muted the nav voice rather than pause it. As it was if I'd needed the nav I'd have had to stop and get the phone out to restart it.
    2. Hey Siri wouldn't work. Not sure why as it does work when the phone is locked. This would've been great as I could've changed music album completely rather than be restricted to the current album - "Hey Siri - Play LCD Soundsystem on Apple Music"
When the phone connected to my helmet headset it announced "nav connected" rather than "phone". Maybe that's why Hey Siri wouldn't work.

OK that last part is super interesting. Perhaps if you pair the bike as a nav rather than a phone, it works ...

Are you on iOS 14? My phone used to pair with no issues for both multimedia and navigation.
After iOS 14, I noticed I no longer got the motorbike information right so I decided to remove it and pair it again. I can’t no longer complete the nav pairing. It will just time out.

I picked up my Tiger 900 GT Pro at the end of July. I have an iPhone X and a Shoei NeoTec 2 with a Sena Bluetooth module fitted. Almost everything worked out of the box once I realised that I had to delete the direct helmet/phone pairing and link both to the TFT. What I can’t get to work is the volume control or Siri. I’m not too worried about the latter but the Sena helmet control isn’t too easy to use when I’m wearing thick gloves.

My main gripe is about the satnav as it really does get its knickers in a twist at times, like yesterday when it tried to take me up a road that didn’t exist. Without stopping and getting my phone out I went in one circle before choosing to finally stop and turn the thing off.

If you're on iOS 14 and don't wanna lose the navigation feature don't unpair your phone as I did or you won't be able to pair it again (for satnav purposes only) until Triumph fixes its app.

Could you try an iphone system restore?
    May work (probably won't)

Just noticed your question - yes I'm on the latest version of iOS. It will have been on version 14 already at the time I got my new headset and set it up. It did seem to be a bit hit and miss - I also had timeouts but then got it working normally.

I've tried like 20 times (no exaggeration) with two different devices (iPhone 8 and iPhone X) and I'm unable to pair the navigation part.

If you look at the App Store feedback on the app you'll see lots of comments from users complaining they can't pair their device after iOS 14. Triumph kinda acknowledges the issue after a canned response pointing them to the FAQ.

I find quite sad that the app hasn't been updated for the last 6 months. I checked on my brother's Android and they're on a newer version, updated just a few weeks ago. I guess we'll have an update on the iOS version soon. I hope.

    Very interesting Dave.

I haven't got as far as buying the bluetooth module for my new Tiger 900 GT and have no intention of doing so until I can get the My Triumph app working on my iPhone 8.
The app times out every time I try and register and is now telling me that my e-mail address is in use and won't go any further. VERY annoying. ..... and as I can't register or log on, there is no way of getting any access to a help screen.
What is Triumph playing at? All this bluetooth connectivity was one of the reasons I bought the bike (beginning to doubt my wisdom now). Until I can get the app working (I have deleted it and reinstalled it several times) there is no way I'm shelling out a small fortune for what is literally, a paper weight.

Has anybody got an idea of who to contact to get this sorted out? Dealers just seem to give a shoulder shrug and say "ah, that's the app", we don't do the app.
FYI, I have tried two iPhones, one running IOS12, the other IOS14 neither work with the app.

    Regards,

    Hamish.

I'd just make a complaint to Triumph UK - I did this when I had a problem with my bike that the dealer didn't agree was an issue. I read up on the Triumph site and they ask you to initially contact your dealer but if they can't sort it out you're to e mail [email protected] with the last 6 characters of your VIN number and details of the issue.

Did anyone get clarity on this issue?
I just bought a Tiger 900 Rally Pro and running iOS 14.4 on iPhone 12, impossible to get the “enable navigation” step to work.

The Triumph dealer has no idea and Triumph’s official connectivity FAQ is no help either (see issue described on page 7).

Did anyone hear from Triumph on this?

Linking a videoI made that illustrate the issue.

I've not heard any update on this, I've asked my dealer to keep me informed if they release any updates for the bluetooth module from within Triumph, but I've heard nothing. I'm just assuming that for whatever reason, it doesn't work with newer iPhones, at least not 100% ... which is a terrible shame.

Interesting things as well that is if I leave the app in the background (not killing the process by swiping up the preview) it drains my battery. Here is after a day where I have not used the app since the turn by turn doesn't work.

Navigation apps always drain the battery at an alarming rate so thats pretty normal I think?
If you start up google maps (which is what it uses) then that’ll probably be the same ?

It most certainly would if the app was actually active giving navigation instructions. But here, the app is inactive, just sitting in the RAM of the phone. Google maps, apple maps, waze, etc, none of which drain battery by just sitting in the RAM, only when active. Killing the app (not simply bringing it to the background) solves the issue.
Battery drainage while idling is really informative of the quality of the tech build.

Update from this end: Bike was due for first service and took it to an other dealer. Turns out that the one I bought the bike from brand new didn't finish the delivery and had no clue of that. The Bluetooth module needs to be activated, registered and the bike's VIN attached to it. Once this done, it all works perfectly!

I got the module installed on my Tiger GT. Quite an expensive piece of equipment for the costs I pay are in INR with added Import duties. I just came back from a 550 Kms ride and I have faced the exact same problems that David has mentioned for his Rocket. I am using the Sena 20s Evo. I was riding solo, so wouldn't be able to comment on the intercom issues but receiving a call using the module is a pain. The GoPro function has a bug. It automatically switches to the photo mode or timelapse mode and then you cannot turn the recording off.

The navigation is useless. I somehow cannot use a turn by turn navigation system; I need to see a map in front of me and most of the time it showed me the wrong turns.

I am still wondering why can't Triumph work on a system that supports Android Auto or Apple Car Play? It would make lives so much easier for everyone...

Overall, Triumph needs a major update in its software to fix these bugs. I feel the hardware works fine, just that the software is just too glitchy.
