75 miles only on a full tank!

Sound a bit light ,should get a bit more than that,does it ned the choke on that long my speedmaster only needs to be on for 10 minutes ,normally start the bike up and by the time i have put the kit on its ready to go ,have you got a standard tank ,i'm sure someone on the forum must have one to compare

If its idling at 10k i think you are fucking lucky to get 75 miles to the tank

Your fuel tank it 4.39 gallons /16.6L.. Does seem extreme... But assuming fuel cost is £1.30 per L £15 / £1.30= 11.5 Litre
So depending on when your filling up, reserve is normally 1 gallon...but it seems yours is slightly more but I am assuming when you fill up.
1 gallon being 4.54L your getting and again assuming depending on price your paying.......roughly 30 mpg...
I have no idea if that is good or bad but I would say when the weather gets better go and give your bike a good run...
Turn the choke off as soon as you start moving, you should only need it to start the bike.
Triumph normally make quite good engines and you do need to compare your against others as previously mentioned.
I would expect circa 40+ mpg....I get that and more from my 1050....

 

2006 T100 has a 16 litre fuel tank... Yes?

16 litres = 3.5 gallons

So if full tank gives 75 miles, that equates to 21.4 miles per gallon.

I would of thought you should be expecting to get 40-45 miles per gallon..... So in answer to your original question..... Yes that is a problem!

16 litres is 3.5 imperial gallons OR 4.2 US gallons

 

The American has a 19.3L tank or 5.1Gallon. So you expect it to do more... Again depending on when you fill up Pig I would guess your getting 38.8mpg assuming you fill up when the light comes on and you have a 1 Gallon reserve...

Im not debating the size of the tank between the T100 & American, im merely stating that your mathematics are incorrect as you based them on US gallons.... Just saying :wink:

 

Yes i know that BUT surely if you wish to calculate fuel consumption we would use the litres to imperial gallon conversion?
