First oil change (by me) on the Street Scrambler today. Basic stuff. The filter should tightened to 8-12Nm. The existing filter fitted by the dealer on the first service (or should have been) was on way tighter than this. The correctly fitting wrench was on the verge of rounding the damn thing off, that's how tight it was. Crap.

Either that or the gasket wasn't oiled when it was put on.

Possible I suppose but it didn"t look dry. The manual also says to refill the sump before fitting the filter to "avoid an airlock between pump and filter". Never heard of that before but played safe and did it that way. I always prime filters before fitting as routine.

I've been RIDING it. Weather finally broke around these parts. Hitting the low 50s. I got out for the first time on a bit of a longer ride, other than just around the neighborhood. I did about 50 miles. Longest I've ridden since I sold the Victory in Oct. 2019. Got cramps in both hips and couldn't get off the bike when I got home. Rusty!

First ride out in 3-4 months. Too nice not to here in the Highlands. Dallas Dhu Distillery in the sunshine. So good to be riding again

New chain, new front sprocket and then, a noticed a nail in the rear tyre when wheeling the bike out for a ride.
    Humbug fuck sticks.
However, 2 new snap-on digital torque wrenches arrived from my company that I wasn’t expecting! And, a torque screwdriver too!

Refitted my original mirrors, because the Triumph one's I got when they were on discount are absolute rubbish, every time you go a teeny bit fast they fold inwards at the ball joint end:confused:

No screw to tighten up the ball then. That is very rubbish.

Sometimes I really miss my old thunderbird 1600, such a comfy bike to ride. Drove from Kiel to London in a day on my TB1600 and loved it...not a sign of a sore arse.

Found a tank centre bolt badge for the Jubilee Model, but as it's the correct year for the manufacture of mine, I've wacked it on. Jubbly.
