Captain Tom Moore

Sad news.

 

Very sad. A truly inspirational man.

 

Yes very sad that he has succumbed to the virus.

 

It may not be possible but could his proper title be respected in the thread name.

I think it is Captain Sir Tom Moore.

Although he was also promoted to Honorary Colonel.

I think the Sir bit is rather important. He’d probably not have given a damn though, but I do.

 

Sad to see him go, but what a cracking last few months he had.

Several TV appearances
Nr1 Chart Hit
Bucket List holiday to Barbados in December.
Had his 100th birthday with thousands of cards

And I’m sure he will be remembered by many as a great Corvid tonic.

 

RIP Sir Tom, you certainly deserve it.

R.I.P Captain Tom. So sorry you lost this battle. But I know now you will sit on the right hand of our Lord and Father. Sir I just want to say Thankyou for so much including the freedom myself and Family have today. You have that well deserved rest now. Condolences to all your family and friends.

Can't add to all the tributes, just agree with them all. I had really hoped he would pull through but sadly that wasn't to be,

A very sad loss but what a legend and a hero.

 

There's been calls to erect a statue to Captain Tom, even putting him on a bank note was mentioned today on the radio. I think the latter is a brilliant idea and what a great way to remember him. Top man.

 

I would agree, Bank note sounds a very good way to honour a great man.

 

I think this is perfectly beautiful and perfectly encapsulates what this selfless man did for so many of us;

There is now a petition to try and get him a state funeral, and while I agree with the sentiment I am not altogether sure the man would have wanted the fuss, but I have signed all the same as he deserves recognition for all his deeds.
