Sprint 1050 - Upgraded Starter Wire, Any Good?

    Hi,
    I often read about those wires being undersized.
    My bike starts at the first push, but it's not immediate. It usually takes 3-4 seconds before engine starts.
    Would bigger wires really help to put more starting power?
    Anyone tried that? How much did it improved?

    In simple terms bigger wires allow more current to flow to the starter motor, which spins faster so the engine starts quicker.

    There are specialist kits available where the cables are pre measured, terminated and ready to swap. Never done one myself but the logic seems irrefutable.

    YES

    Speed Triple 2010
    I upgraded the wires from battery to solenoid
    Solenoid to starter motor - Earth was a direct connection from the starter motor
    From stator to rectifier
    and if I remember right I did battery to earth too

    Bike starts with a lot more certainty and higher turnover speed and usually on second turnover

    Did you made your own cables or bought a ready made kit ?

    As it's not an expensive upgrade, and can't go wrong, You decided me to do that upgrade.

    I made my own
    Bought the cable, connectors and the crimping tool
    When crimped I also got some solder in there to improve the connection

    Thanks, very useful answer. Never saw this crimping tool. Definitively gonna chase one.
