Hello, Richard, and "Welcome" !! I envy your ownership of that new ride. Do you suppose that it is waaaaay overpowered for the size/weight or does that specifically appeal to you ??
Not really, I like having that extra power, when traveling on the freeways. If you really need to pass somebody or have get out of the way of something, you have the power and torque to do it. But my bike Cricket likes to cruise comfortable at between 60 and 65 miles an hour. I have to watch her though or she'll snick up to 70 and stay their. But all in all she really likes to cruise at around 65 miles an hour, all day long. I bought the Triumph OEM high handlebars, risers, along with the Triumph OEM extended wiring off of eBay, for 215.00 bucks. The dealer wants 400.00 buck for all of that . Plus another 400.00 bucks to install it. Since I'm an old HD mechanic. I did all myself and it was very easy to do. Just time consuming, that's all. I'll take a current picture of her and post it. I'm one of the few people still alive, that can still ride a bike with a stick shift and a foot clutch. This bike is only the third motorcycle, that I've owned. That has a hand clutch and a foot shifter. All my old HD's and my one 1948 Indian chef, all had stick shits and foot clutches.
I almost forgot, on my bike, I have stability control, line by wire steering, two riding modes sport and rain, along with ABS braking too. I'm a cruiser rider. So I like to take a lot of camping trips out of state and in state. I'm buying a 35L Sklog A Kust BackSak Pro Waterproof floating backpacks with exterior airtight zippered pockets, off of Amazon. To carry all my camping gear with me. I can pack up stuff pretty tight too.
Well you should have a bike that has enough 'beans' to carry all that gear. I am one of those who can still operate a bike that you start with your 'foot' !
Hi Everyone, I just bought my first bike in over 15 years. It's a Thruxton 1200 R Matt. I am looking forward to chatting on here.
Could anyone tell me what the maximum picture upload size is please? Ta muchly. EDIT; I didn't find the answer to this but did find that if you open the picture in paint and then just save as a jpeg again, it more or less halves the file size. No idea why - but useful none the less!

CRUISE CONTROL FOR TRIUMPH 1200 THRUXTON & THRUXTON R Hello! I have recently purchased a 2016 Thruxton R and to my surprise the previous owner had installed a cruise control system on the bike. In order to fit a new bench seat I purchased I had to deinstall the system and am now looking to sell it. They system has been barely used and was installed at about 5,000 miles on the bike and the bike only has 8,000 miles on it. It is a mccruise control outfitted with the slim switch. I am including the link that takes you to the company website. https://www.mccruise.com/products/t...ottle-by-wire-mccruise?variant=29423707029602 Please message me if interested. I am in the US!
@Havit Any chance you can prevent further posts on this thread so the original content doesn't get lost? @carmelo Hi, you have posted on to a pinned post, if you start a new thread of your own you will probably get a better response
It depends what you are looking for. There’s a forum on here for the different models of Triumph. That’s probably your best place to post. Take a look around or try a few searches.
