Knee Pad Feel Off Tank

I noticed after riding my 06 rocket 3 today that the right side knee pad fell off.
It doesn't really bother me that it's off .
Do you guys have any suggestions on how to
Remove the glue that was left behind?

Idk why i didn't think about it thats how i remove decal residue on trucks brake cleaner and pb blast

 

I may try that i really don't want to damage the paint
